    Hardcore Necromancer?

I beat the Normal mode yesterday on my Druid, level 24 right now, and decided to make a Hardcore character to play when I'm not leveling him.

I made a Necromancer, because they seemed like a good choice for Hardcore. I figured they would have good survivability due to their summons protecting them. Is this true?

Also, what is a good build for a hardcore Necromancer, that will help me stay alive?

    Thanks.

Summon necro are 1 of the safest build in hc.
Ur skele army acts a shield & sword between u and the melee mobs. As for range mobs, use ur curse(Dim vision) to blind them, and ur army moves in to attack.

I also made a sumoner on HC (he is in mid ACT 3 now) I love it, they are really safe. Only scary moment was vs Duriel who killed himself against my Clay Golem with IM. The scary part was the fear of a charge, because that fat worm decided to ignore my merc and golem and chase me for a while.

    My planed build will be:

    STATS (base):

    Str: 60-100ish
    Dex: Nothing
Vita: Everything after STR and NRG is finished
Nrg: 50 (could go base but I feel like I will be spamming lots of CE and Bone Spears from Normal through mid-NightMare)

    SKILLS
    ---------
    20 Raise Skelly
    20 SKelly Mastery
    5- 10 Golem Mastery
1 on everything else in the Sumoning Tree
    ----

20 Bone Wall (for synergy on Both Bone Spear and Bone Armor)
1 Bone Spear (will raise this after my core build is done)
1 Bone Armor (mandatory extra safety in HC IMO)
    -----------

    5 Amp Damage
    1 Decrepify
    (4 pre-req)

Core Build should be finish by lvl 75ish
Then I'll just adjust depending on the gear I find ( brand new account no twinking for me, lost my good mules long time ago :( )

If you wanna hook up with another Necro holla *Aztaroth

The only problem with a Summoner Necro is normal Diablo. His elemental attacks will wipe out your army and leave you helpless. Its possible, but be prepared for a bit more of a fight then you will be used to at that time.

When u reach act4 and taking on the big red lizard. Beware, high chance ur skele army will be wipe out by his flames (forgot the name). Reason because ur skele army still not strong enough at clvl30.

1 point into decrepify, clay golem, and lower resist should do the trick. Also. You should have 1 pt in Skeleton Mastery and just jam everything else into Raise Skeleton until it's 20 - nothing beefs up your skeletons more than points into Raise Skeleton.

For my incoming fight with Meph and later on Big D, I just purchased from Ormus a cool lil wand with +3 to Decrepify and +2 Golem Mastery.

Took me 30 min to get a decent wand to show up in his inventory and cost me 285k heh.

I know by the time I hit both of these bad boys in Normal Difficulty my skellys will be nothing more than laughables walking sticks.

I only count on 4 things for these 2 fights:

    1- Decrepify
    2- Clay Golem
    3- Merc
    4- My Bone Spears

Will probably take me an insane amount of mana pots and trips to town but it will fun and exiting, I jut can't wait to do it.

For Diablo, I might even hit lvl 30 and get 1 in Revive, which can make all the difference.

Aye, I just got 1 pt into it and that would have to do it for now. Hopefully it should be enough.

By the way b.net is acting on me this past two days (disconnect after 30min of play - starting over the same area, over and over) I will be lvl 50 by the time I hit Diablo anyway lol.

    Just to conclude :)

Killed both Meph and Diablo, without major problem.. now i'm lvl 28 in act 5, yay for me.

Meph was a total joke, with my +3 decrep wand (I dont have the skill yet) my 5 skellys, golem and merc made a short work of him.
There's always the scary moment with the Council of course but the really only annoying part was to get rid of all the Blood Lord who kept destroying my little army with their damned Fireballs/Meteor

Now Diablo was a much tougher customer. Nevermind the skellys, they all got swept away with one Fire Nova, maybe 2. Re-Raised them 5 skellys three more times, then gave up on them. And yes I have summon resist, skellys and SM are both at lvl 10. They just didn't cut it.

So that leave us with the merc and golem.

At first I tried the same story than with meph, Drecep and Bone Spears. Yeah could have worked but seriously too much of a pain in the rear's method at my current level and gear set up, got Diablo at 3/4 life after wasting most of my cash reviving the merc and buying mana pots.

The solution was actually quite simple and so much efficient.

Golem and IM, just like with Dureil. and that's it.

Run around, keep Big D IM cursed and send him a lil Clay Golem gift to toy with. A couple trip to town renew mana pots and 3 Full Rejuv pots, that's all it took.

Nice drop from Big D, 3 Uniques and 2 Rares!

    Now onto Baal!!

    Stop everything....

Don't put points into SM until Skeletons are maxed. Believe me, you get a MUCH larger benefit.

    Aye Aye Capt'n. Will do

I just wanted to get a Fire Golem and get Decrep. I have both now so I can go back to bump Skellys.

Baal btw was a joke too. Decrep, my golem, my merc, 5 skellys and 2 revived Venom Lords (first decent thing closer to the wp in River of Flame that I could grab - I don't have teleport nor enigma, I can't wander too far away)

Lvl 38 in NM, kicking rears and takin names lol
