Happy Yeaster

Happy Yeaster

Yep...Easter is a good time for baking, and the mouthwatering scent of yeasty dough rising and bread baking is filling this house with yumstuff.

The homemade sausage is cooked and ready to serve.

I love the Polish Easter. All religion aside, it is, next to Thanksgiving, the best holiday of the year for family and friends to sit around the campfire and share in the bounty.

Enjoy your day, all, whether or not you celebrate the holiday.

Homemade sausage? Mmm, sounds good--when can I come over? ;)

I'm heading over to my parents house in a bit, there's ham and breads and pies galore. Should be a good time.

Drat  I was all ready with a clever quip about your typo.

But my chocolate easter bunny has been consumed, so I can't be too dissapointed. :D

But, surely, after you saw that the thread starter was MixedVariety, you knew it wasn't a typo?

Human: the other white meat

Mmmm...nothing beats a good Easter ham. Throw in some crescent rolls, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes, and really good red wine and you've got yourself a fine meal.

I had a turkey, ham, and some big hunk of beef with several types of mashed potatoes and salad. All followed by some chocolate pie and lots of cakes.

We had a new type of mashed potatoes that had some sort of cereal on top(honey bunches of oats maybe) that were amazing. I have big doggy bag full of them downstairs. I don't know where my grandmother got the recipe, but damn they're good.

the kids and i drove up to raleigh today to see olie's mom. she fixed glazed ham, potato salad, deviled eggs, biscuits, sugar snap peas, and fresh baby carrots. :p only thing missing was olie! *(and some collards or routabagas! maybe some hushpuppies!)* but the MAN had to sleep today *(working tonite, as well as monday and tuesday night)* it was still a fun day. the kids would have done an easter egg hunt, but the weather was not too cooperative and they have been playing around doing it inside lately, so they did not miss much.

hope that everyone *(those who observe it anyway)* had a wonderful Y-easter! LOL. and those who don't, hope your day was still just as nice to ya!

Had a cold most of the weekend and my dinner was some chicken soup. But overall it was a nice relaxing weekend.

Happy Easter to all!

My wife dragged me off to a Congregational Church where I sang religious hymns and got all holier than thou for a moment ... then we ate out at a fine restaurant.

Whee!

I guess it didn't hurt me and the food was good. :p
