I'm in the process of remaking my hammerdin, and this time around I've decided I want to incorporate the ability to lay the beatdown on the ubers :) I want to see some opinions and maybe comments on viability as well as efficiency. As a side note, this is East Ladder.

Skill setup:
typical hammerdin build, maxing holy shield last
1 pt in fanat

This way, I'll be pretty much a normal hammerdin but with one point in fanat for when I smite. With my ubers setup on, fanat should be around level 10-11, can't recall.

Normal gear setup:
shako w/ um
maras
dusk enigma
um'd upped hoz
hoto
2x soj
arach
war travs
trang gloves

Uber gear setup:
kiras (may socket with ort later)
highlords (for the last bit of ias needed to hit 6 frame smite)
dusk enigma
um'd upped hoz
last wish pb (frees up my equipment cause it provides enough cb)
2x soj (maybe raven/dwarf/wisp, but not really needed. already have cbf from kiras)
tgods (I'm gonna test this to see if I can tank meph without it)
draculs or trang gloves
war travs or gores

Theoretically, this item setup will work very well. I've tried it on my pure smiter already, and I destroyed the ubers. I tested this a bit in single player and my smite with base level 1 fanat and smite was ~1.1k. Should be higher because I didn't bother to test precast holyshield. Earlier in the season, I had a budget smiter that did around 1k with 40% cb, and I could solo ubers fine. So I'm hoping it's the same with my hammerdin.
Also, my total resists will be about ~250ish stacked (Oh wait this was with my random charms.. oh well may not need that much). This way I have max light res when fighting meph and his conviction. I will hit at least 3k hp.

Well there it is. If anyone has tried this, please give me some opinions. I have considered smiting with conc on :scratchchin:.. but that's a bit slow.

I'm impressed.

I love this idea. I was thinking about your conc idea, and you may be able to pull it off. You have your resists pretty well captured it seems, so I'm thinking that maybe you could socket kiras with a 15ias and use a nosferatu for the 10%. Your attack would be slower but more powerful. I'd consider using this towards the end where you need smite damage and not your cb for the last sliver.

With 25ias (jewel kira's and nos) and at least a lvl 5 fant you'll hit 6fps smite.

I do have a concern with your survivability on the adds that spawn. I don't know how well a hamerdin will tank them because my zealer just leeches like crazy.

If there is trouble, I'd consider getting 1pt zeal and having it at at least lvl 5 for max hits and killing adds like that.

Theoretically at 99 you could have max hammers, max vigor, max blessed aim, max HS, max conc, and 1pt zeal and pre reqs.

Oh that's a good idea, changing auras near the end. Looking at the weapon speed calculator, I need at least 24 ias to hit 7 fpa, which is decent. Instead of nos, I was thinking 15 ias jewel + highlords.
Survivability should be no problem, I'll have ~3k life in that setup. I'm going to go test this soon, already have my hammerdin made. I think I'll start out testing the fanat, and then fanat + conc near the end. But before I test this I need some dkeys..

More than 3 hours have passed so..

UPDATE

It worked better than I expected! However, I ran through some issues before I got to test.. This was due to my oversight. I didn't have enough dex for my lw pb, so I had to ko my kiras and wear a raven (originally didn't plan to). This caused me lose out on a potential 30% lite resist in the kiras, but it ended up alright as I had 66 lite res vs meph's conviction.

My gear setup was:
ko'd kiras
highlords
upped um'd hoz
enigma
lw pb
arachnids (no need for tgods, plus the fcr and skills is useful)
trang gloves (no need for draculs, enough lifetap% on lw pb)
war travs (no need for gores, enough cb from lw pb)

In this setup, these were my stats:
8k hammers (might have been 9k, can't remember)
~1.1k smite dam @ 6fpa
max res, and high res vs conviction (fade is really nice)
3k hp
~400 mana
11k def (pretty low but satisfactory)

My first mini uber was duriel. I took him down easily. Then I moved on to uber izual. I found it decently easy because I could clear mobs with my hammers (40 fcr). Took izzy down easily. Next was Lilith, she was pretty easy too with no other monsters in the room.
Now on to uber tristam, I easily tanked and took down meph, baal, and diablo. I didn't have to single them out, I could tank them all. It wasn't too hard to finish any of the ubers off with my 1.1k damage. Although it may be difficult in a game with a few other players.. Overall I think it took my hammerdin 2-4 minutes longer than my pure smiter to do ubers (including mini ubers) Plus I could clear mobs.

I think my dex situation and setup is satisfactory, I'm not gonna bother to get more dex to rid the need of a ravenfrost or ko in the kiras. I plan to do further testing with this setup. I also think a conc setup with 7 fpa is unnecessary. I'm also too lazy to test it so I'll leave that to someone else.

All in all: My new hammerdin can truly destroy everything in the game.

ps. I might include a video in the next update, and write a guide later (if there isn't already anything like this, I know there's a 1 pt smiter guide but that's more for zealots)

edit: Aw, there is already a guide for hammer/smite.. :(
