hammerdin: Combat gcs or Offensive gcs?

Would additional BH skills do more damage than additional Concentration skills?

I was always told it was better to use combat charms, since supposedly increasing the BH damage directly through BH is more effective than increasing the concentration slvl...

Combats are definetly the best, but Offensives can be used as well. My current mage build will be utilizing 10 offensives w/40 life that are just sitting on a mule character. I took some time and planned out what type of damage that i'll be doing. I'm looking at about 8k hammers and 3700 foh damage at lvl 95. The numbers aren't the greatest, but it'll definetly hold it's own both in PvM and PvP.

What is your conviction level with all of those charms? If you're honestly going to be using them, you shouldn't have a high base-level conviction, considering mages often use +skill gear.

And if you replaced those offensive GC's (and yes, I understand that you just had them sitting around) for combat GC's, you'd be so much more effective... bringing up your FoH AND BH damage by 10 levels each is pretty sick...

You should try to find a needy tesladin, frost zealot, ranger, or some other fun builds, and see if they'll trade... they typically aren't worth 1 for 1, but the damage you'll get from the combat GC's are just far superior than the offensive GC's... especially on the FoH, unless, as stated before, your conviction level has a really low base-level, and you actually utalize those offensive GC's to your skill allocation advantage.

My concentration and conviction will both be at lvl 1, since i'll have +23 or +24 to offensive skills. I also will not trade my offensives unless I get an offer of 10 combats with at least 25+ life each. I do switch my charms to my telsadin or frost ranger from time to time (whenever I get the urge to play them), so they're kinda always in use. However thanks for all your comments.
