    Love fest tonight eh?

I'll be playing WoW. I'm into the lore at the moment and alot of my friends are playing it thus I have a natural pre-disposition. I have faith in blizzard as well as commitment. We shall see

I'm in the GW test. However, should I have not been in any of the tests I'd still play GW (if any) because it's free and I'd like to think my world doesn't evolve around a computer game :)

Although i have every intention of trying out both of them, I am currently very hopeful about the game "Sacred" which is set for release in the States this tuesday, March 23rd.

Has anyway played this game yet? I would love to get some insight from the D2 Community as this game appears to be very Diabloesq...complete with a free closed server

    that hurts kaos. it does.

i'm testing GW and will be playing GW and you all will to. its got that something that keeps people coming back much like diablo and starcraft have. hmm... could it be that these are the same developers who made those games? ;) plus its free :D

for all the doubters... just wait for E3.

I am going to play Guild Wars. The fan site shows some awesome art, and what I can tell the game content looks very good. I'm hoping it will cure my D2 addiction. :drink:

Note on GW: Amazing engine. If you are plannig on playing it, mind you that your video card is the part doing the work. I'm playing GW in a decent 1024*768 and a nice FPS on a PIII 1000Mhz. I do have a quite nice video card though, but not top-of-the-line either. It's a GForce FX 5800.

All I'm saying is that most of you already have the machine for GW as the engine is marveouls. However, when you get a new comp (and not build it yourself) the sellers often try to draw people with the high CPU clock, and put a crap video-card in the box, beacuse not many buyers know the difference between a GForce MX400 and FX5800. "Wow, my comp is sooo leet, it's clocked at 3.06Ghz - pheer my games!!! ... Hey, why does all the later 3D games run as good on your crappy ol' 1Ghz?? NOT FAIR - BUHhhuhhhh!"

It's a bit like the D2 players insisting on socketing Bruiza with OHM

POINT BEING: For most of the games like SW Knights of the old republic, GW and (probably) WoW, the most important part in your system is a good video card, so don't think you have to get the latest 5Ghz CPU to play such games, as it's the video card doing most of the work anyway :)

I dont see myself paying to play a game I paid for, it just isnt in my nature to do that! If they feel they need more money from me than the what $60 they sold the game for then they need to double the price if they want me to buy it.

I will buy Guild Wars and from what I have seen thus far I am sure I will get addicted to it. WoW sounds great also, but i just am not going to pay to play my game!

Very good point. Also don't forget about ram, a nice video card, cpu and bare minimum ram doesn't make the best mix. Also the GeForce FX 5200's (lowest of the FX line) are really cheap these days, they are around $100 canadian, so very affordable. Of course if you have dough to blow go whole hog and trick yer rig out. ;)

Bit of an old thread, but some recent news has come up that those who are looking at GuildWars might like.

    http://www.guildwars.com/e3-2004/default.html

GuildWars will be availible to be played by the public for the duration of E3 this year. This means that you get an exclusive 3 day gaming experience where you can play the game in its current alpha state. You will also see their streaming technology in action. No more waiting for patch day *yay*

You will be playing in the same game world alongside:
*Everyone who plays it at E3
    *Alpha testers
    *Developers who may come online
*The countless other fans or other people from all around the world who decided to download the game client.

Check the link I provided for more info if you're interested. Hope to see some of you online :)
