Life after diablo
Well good for you.
honestly though. i've been an addict for, just about as long as the game has been available. upgraded to LoD as soon as the shops knew where to order it.
and during the time from there up to last year december i was hooked on it every day and minute of spare time.
i had all my equipment and stuff sorted around a total of no less than 18 accounts. Gambled away thousands of pieces of magical jewelry, gloves, belts and then some into the cube of the horadrim for Crafting those spiffy orange items everyone coveted.
in all that time the highest rune i found myself was IST. though like most Veteran players i had several mules filled with 40/15 jewels, runes from UM up to ZOD, and then some, unique elite items and the likes. (no point in denying what everyone knows and do themselves)
the Diabloii.net community scowls upon them, but like any good merchant, if the currency of the community is thus, you go with the flow. buy low, sell high and anyone can flourish.
As i stated, all this trading, cow killing, baal running... came to an end last December. despondency was setting in,, i had seen one too many cows fall by my bow that day.. and i was given a Game to try by a friend.
aparently it has existed for over 7 Years now, and i dont understand how i could have ever done without it.
Ultima Online
Indeed, that old, 2D game, thats now available for masses of players to play online. and i Love every minute of it. (public note: install the 2D version, not the 3D version, its ugly as heck)
a My first minutes in the game:
- Create character
> jeez i can use all those skills?
- select town to start in
> hmm kay. Big map, Start in the Center
> hmm, a bit backward in graphical quality, but nothing i cant get used to
- getting out of town
> big town....
- Encounter with the first Player
> Nice, Mature people(18-60 years of age, honestly) no nOOb callers and LEET idiots like which seems default on battle.net
- the first Death.
> ohhh a wisp. lets kill it.
> yes, i got Creamed by the FIST monster i walked up to and took a swing at !!!
> such mistakes are few however, and soon you will see that fighting takes a bit more tact that walk up to it and wack it with whatever big stick you are holding ( like in diablo )
- death
> ok, i'm a ghost.... now what.
> walk around, scare people. its fun.
> eventually your find a Mage, or Healer who can resurrect you.
- reality sets in
> ohmygosh, my equipment !!! where did i leave my corpse......
Its a matter of trail and error, and i encourage anyone who is getting tired of the endless Cowruns and Baalruns to come and give it a shot as well. in no time you'll be hooked.

i'm Making my way trough several monster types, working hard to earning every bit of gold ( yes GOLD does matter here ) and slowly getting back to the top notch rich players, though there will always be those i can not surpass.
If you Join the "Great Lakes" shard ( biggest american shard ) look out for: Nimrod / Quiris / Damian
Some of my main characters, and Say Hello

I can be found around the Trinsic Moongate, or the Luna Bank. ( when you get into the game you'll know where that is soon enough )
Cheers.
BBR.
ps: before you ask, i have already given away all 18 accounts of stuff that i had in the Europe ETF forum, and public channel. ( i just know thats the first thing some of you will think about... so ill beat you to it. )
