Rules : No save and exit to avoid death , no magic finding unless absolutely needed , no tp in belt when facing ancients , untwinked.

First of all , im very happy about items i have found. I didnt do a single mf run and so far this is the best equiped character i have.

This character has been a blast to play. Start was slow like with all sorcs. I pumped fireball early , putting points into prereqs . When i became level 30 i pumped orb. When maxed it pumped hydra , fire mastery and lastly dropped few points into fireball. I cant say much about normal/NM .Orb slaughtered everything at such speed it was scary . In hell things became more interesting because of immunities. Normally i'd set up few hydras on edge of screen to scout , run in and rip everything apart with more hydras/orbs. Hydra's really shined in dungeons like flayer dungeon.I always found that place very dangerous with those extra fast flayers. This time i'd just drop some hydras and wait till they drop.

NDE's : none. Yes , none at all. There were few scary moments tho. In spider cavern extra strong boss spider managed to sneak behind me and take a free shot while i was amped. It would have probably left me on very low life , but luckily i managed to block the hit. Also , i got in talic's whirld once but a few FRJs solved the problem. Not much apart that i think.

Specific challenges :

Bosses : they were easy, not much i can say about those fights.

Gloams : i never understood why they are so feared. My hydras would usually kill them from distance. If they came orb would solve matters quickly.

Act 2 , tall rasha's tomb : The hardest time i've had apart ancients. I had really hard time getting to "ressurecting guys" as skeletons kept coming and coming while their immunities made them quite hard to kill. I didnt want to risk teleporting on top of ressurecters so i had to waste a lot of time running, breaking the packs , etc.

Chaos sanctuary : OB = cold immune. Doom knights = fire immune. Result , lead doom knights away from OBs , kill them , kill OBs then. It took quite a time but wasnt really dangerous. My merc died twice.

Act 5 bloody foothills : monsters were burning archers and quill rats. This combination created bunch of ranged attackers shooting at me from all sides. Lots of teleporting , potion drinking and time later i got through.

Ancients : re-rolled their mods few times , to get them without FE or might/fanatism auras. My merc died early , didnt manage to teleport him away. So , first of all i decided to kill madawc and korlic as they were both cold immune. Spammed hydras , ran around . Quite a few times i ran out of stamina. Wasnt fun :undecided:. After about 30 minutes both of them collapsed leaving me and 3 full rejuv potions against talic. After lots of running and waiting to regen magicka he finally died too. Entire battle took about 50 minutes.

Other notes : While it might sound funny , i actually found lack of light radius a problem . I often saw monsters too late , which resulted in a bit of lost life. Also , teleport is a life saver . Not for me , but merc. I had to resurect him like 10 times in total during whole game. Most of those times were against bosses. Also , going through early hell on /players 3 really paid off. I found quite a few good items (At least they seem good to me..). Hell HF game me freakin' Hel.

Screenies : i took quite a few of them , but they really arent worth showing. Except these

To conclude , this character was dealing very high damage compared to my other guardians , was really lucky with item drops, was pretty safe too.

Next character that i will try to get through whole game will be my magezon , she's level 30 ATM. I can see this being quite hard already , i'll probably even need to mf a bit for decent bow. Wish me a luck !

Nice guardian , especially 1.10 with an increased chance of a FE Death. You got some very nice items your Gurardian. Good luck with your Mageazon. I found the Hell Ancients extremely difficult to beat in SC with a Mageazon even with a buff Valk and nice merc. The Leaper causes the most problems as kept targetting my char and in the end after 6 OHKO's I cheesied my way to Mat by twinking on RipHook and Cleglaws Pincers to help split them. If you are lucky enough to find these the lower IA and FA damage was worth not getting swamped by Extra Fast Ancients, good luck.

Oops :tongue: I also noticed i wrote my stats after items wrong.

Anyway , here are the damages
Orb ~ 350 per shard
Hydra ~ 765-900 per bolt

This is great! I was thinking about a build like this a very long time ago, just straight ice and fire bolting madness but then I heard hydra was kind of weaksauce and orb was a bit monotonous (sp?) but together? Oh man, it sounds so fun!

I've been looking for an entertaining build to rekindle my passion for this game and I have a very good feeling that this is it =)

Can you tell us how much damage did you end up doing with hydras / fireball? I've been thinking about making another hydra sorc sometimes. Was it mainly just passive background damage like Thunderstorm or are they actually killing stuff?

Lol. ZeroOneSeven, you missed the necromancer forum!

Cow king: Hydra was my main killing spell. While FO was much more effective in NM, hydra became very effective in hell. Toss a few around the corner and you're done :smiley:. Certainly hell viable and very safe build.

And necros, eh I'm up and down about necros. If marrow's glitch was still around I'd make a poison boner but now that it is essentially one atk spell type or the other... just not doin it for me.

Otherwise I'd have revived something in there too. Maybe a fischy post. Tomorrows class: Druids. Why is their firestorm smaller and does size matter? Around 2pm et.

By your own definition then... my post would not fall under that category. I just seek answers for a game I love, so I ask questions. I Search, I comment, oh gosh an old topic is back on the main page for a day, and it is really not that crucial a development. If it were, old threads would be deleted sooner and/or locked.

It seems to me there are a few people on here who tend to shush other's at movies instead of just throwing popcorn at em. C'mon now, it's all good fun. Don't go policing when you are not the police and additionally, as a recommendation, invest in looser fitting underwear.
