I’m just not feeling the trav runs right now, so I figured I’d work on my two guard threads from what feels like years ago.

This is a singer barbarian; the name of course is the lead character in the famous novel turned musical turned movie Les Miserables. I’ve actually seen the musical too and I have to say it’s pretty decent (the movie isn’t half bad either, but it’s not the same). Everyone on here of course sings praises about singer barbs about how amazing they are, and how safe they are, so now I have a completed one of my own, and yes they are safe, but slow go without that coveted enigma runeword.

Build and Gear Progression:

The build for the singer was standard skill wise. One point in the masteries as they became available other than weapon masteries, nothing in combat skills (obviously). In terms of the war cry skills, I don’t think I actually maxed out war cry itself until somewhere near the end of the game. I wanted to minimize mana costs through questing as much as possible until near completion of the build. Battle Orders was also maxed somewhere near the beginning of the build because more life is always great. Synergy points were kind of spread evenly but I ended up maxing battle cry first for efficiency/safety with bosses.

Stats were enough strength/dex for gear. I could actually probably lose 10 strength thanks to the boost from travs, but I’ll probably wait until I have an enigma to respec anyway since I’m sitting at a comfortable 400 vitality. Nothing in energy as always especially with the terrible returns, needed mana boosts were taken care of through charms and the increase maximum mana on gear (4.2k life/960 mana with BO).

Early game I think I may have used some arrangement of Death/Berserkers/Angelic since as a cool barb you can use both the full death and full berserkers set at the same time. Once level 30 was reached, gear was switched to a caster outfit with dual spirit swords, peasant crown, vipermagi, silkweave and glooms trap belt, some rare rings and the sweet rare ammy seen above. Gear was eventually switched out to what is seen above as it became available to become more magic find oriented while still hitting the 105 fcr breakpoint and maintaining max resistances. MF on standard kill is 367 currently, and 655 with dual ist baba switch for horking. That will obviously drop a little if I ever get enigma, but that will be well worth it. Inventory is made up of 4 skillers, 1 mana/fhr GC, 2 mana/life LC, Gheeds, remainder a varying array of mf scs.

Questing and Gameplay:

This started out like most other HC MP excursions, group of people in the start, we get through maybe act 1 and activity starts to dwindle. I can’t recall if we all made it to the end of normal or not, but I know this guy was parked in act 5 normal for a long, long time since my first screen shot is from April 2013, and he was finished November 2013. I think I eventually picked him up and did shenk/pindle runs to get to a decent level and pushed on either with some other people or on my own. I think cdm helped me at the end in late hell so I could make it to guardian and complete the character. Questing/Killing on his own is kind of slow go, but not terribly. Physical immunes are the biggest problem, but other than that gameplay was more than safe, pretty much nothing moved as it was constantly stunned and my large mana pool pretty much meant I could spam war cry until everything was dead. Gather a group, spam war cry, hork, move forward. Rinse/repeat for most of the game.

Interesting finds:

Too long ago, I don’t really remember. There is a pair of trek’s that dropped from Hell Baal that can be seen in the pictures though so there is that? Forge must not have been memorable either.

Future Plans:

Pits if I feel like it, otherwise nothing for now. Might do some MP baal runs with him as it provides tank+safety for the group but we haven’t played together in quite a while so I don’t really know how likely this is.

IDK why the thread was ignored for a month, Singers making Guard are not as easy to ignore as say fishy mancer guardians. Unless it's because everyone hates Pyro...

Thanks! The constant reviving of the skelentons in the tombs gets kind of annoying, but as long as you can run around to the unraveller guys its not too bad. Other than that it just takes some time since the damage output is low and they have 33% physical resistance.

Taunt revivers to you so they quit their special attack and try to melee you, howl the skeletons out of your way, or leap over the mobs to get to the reviver.

Dentist I think I'll pass. Bone Necro in general is on my list though.

Fendazon on its own, also pass, but I do love the combination of fend/poison/plague javelin so that build is on my short list.
