Guardian Angel for a Sorc

I just built an all out defensive Sorc for public duelling that wears Guardian Angel and Stormshield and am quite impressed so far with how well she survives, pvp and pvm. Even though she only hits the 63 FCR breakpoint and has no merc she's also the best Baal teleporter I've built yet. The tradeoff is lower damage, she loses 4-5k versus my old fireball sorc.

I'm posting this because I'm interested in comments on my gear and how others on this forum would build a sorc using GA for any purpose, PvP (public or organized) or PvM (MF, questing, rushing, Baaling, etc.) The armor has +15% max to all resists and +20% chance to block, so you can even go max-block with a shield normally considered non-blocking.

My setup is:
Guardian Angel (Shael)
Kira's Guardian (Shael)
Mara's
Magefist
2xSOJ
String of Ears
Sandstorm Treks
CTA
Wizspike-Stormshield (Um)/4xPTopaz Monarch/4xPSapphire Monarch
Annihilus
1xFHR SC (+1 more, see below)
5xFire GCs (plain)
Vita SCs (plain)

10K Fireball
63 FCR breakpoint (9 Frame)
60 FHR breakpoint (8 Frame) (oops, next break is 86)
48 FBR breakpoint (5 Frame)
1400 Life with BO
90% Resist all, stacked 20/20/20/70 without shield
50% PDR/75% block with SS
15% PDR/53% block with gemmed Monarch

sounds like a great hardcore build, and an excellent hardcore ladder runner for next season, since the gear is (relativly) easy to find, and by the time you actually get to baal runs, there will already be some items found... nothing TOO rare (except SS, but you could get a 4pdiamond monarch and go without the CTA for a while)

oops, forgot kiras.... well, you could go without that and go shako for a while, right? i think so.

With Storm and Shako her resists are approximately 75/135/100/125, so I think it could be done, though you'll likely lose the 20 FHR on the Kiras in the tradeoff. I would expect a ladder-running team to include a barb and/or druid, so CTA wouldn't be necessary for them; a single player will be stuck with half the life she has though. I would think a hardcore player would have a merc and play a lot more carefully than I do, so you're likely right about the Storm too.

Just Shael your Shako?

I'd say use a 15% damage reduction verdungo instead of the string of ears. would increase your life a lot more.

Pure Fireball for PvP
1pt Frozen Armor, Telekinesis, Warmth, Static (too helpful for PvM/levelling to skip), and PreReqs
20pts Firebolt, Fireball, Meteor, Fire Mastery
Rest in Teleport
No ES, that's why she has all the resist and %PDR gear.

Verdungo's is better, I just didn't have one last week. I have also swapped one SOJ for a BK and added more skillers. Even with the cold shield and Trang gloves, she still doesn't have enough cold resist (only stacked +210) so I'm going to drop some Thuls in a 3-socket Templar Coat and grab a Snowclash for the +max resist. I could also drop a cold res jewel in another Wizspike.

 Forgot about the Anya bug. Without a shield she's actually 10 under the 90% cap for Cold/Fire/Light, so I decided to drop a skiller for a Res All/Life GC.

The Thul'd Templar Coat is visually different than the GA (different color), so I dumped that for a 4 socket armor.
