    Arrowa
    Level 81 Strafer

    Skills
    +1 To all skills
    20 Strafe
    20 Valk (Level 32 with pre-buff gear, 3256 life)
    20 Penetration
    9 Pierce
    3 Dodge
    3 Avoid

    8 Unspent skill points.

How about 6 points in MS and then get a few points in Dodge/Avoid?
Or do you guys have any better ideas?

    Stats and LCS
    Strength: 52 (89)
    Dexterity: 208 (242)
    Vitality: 215 (253) 1262 Life

Even though i play HC i regret investing so heavily into Vitality.
This results in a lack of damage and attack rating.
150 hard points in vitality should be more then enough.

Laying of Hands would be very helpfull.
If i find them i will unsocket my bow and but Shael+Nef instead.
I also want to replace my boots with Waterwalk or War Traveler if i manage to find them.
Demon Limb would be nice on switch.

    General
Slow to level until you get Skystrike. But then the speed really picks up. WWS is a killing machine until late Hell. She was easy and rather safe to play, not many NDE's. But she could also be a bit boring since strafe is the only attack and you can't even aim it. Slow Missiles and Decoy are truly 1-point-wonders. I used them both alot. The range of strafe + knockback makes it easy to kill enemies outside the screen!

While clearing the tomb in Hell i had to switch one ring to Nature's Peace since those damn skeletons kept getting resurrected! Actually, enemies like Shamans that can resurrect was a freaking pain due to Strafe only hitting the minions. Wave 2 in the Throne Room took forever to clear, perhaps 1pt in FA would help since then you could shatter the minions.

Physical Immunes was not a problem. I thought Amp triggered often enough to break them.

    Hell Ancients
My Merc bit the dust after 2 hits but my valk could easily tank them. And since she is recastable it was easy to pick them off from a distance. No problems att all.

    Hell Baal
Now this is the most annoying battle i've ever had in D2. He kept spawning his clone and there was appendages everywhere. And since you can't aim Strafe i kept firing att the appendages instead of Baal. My Merc died in about 2 seconds and i was constantly frozen by Baals attack. I had to go back to town every 2 seconds in order to heal my Merc since i really needed Might since i hardly did any damage to Baal. I used countless Full Rejuvs on my merc and even more TP's. Efter more then 30 minutes i managed to take him down and he didn't even have the courtesy to drop something even remotley useful.

    Future plans
    Full time Pit-Runner!
She will be my base-item hunter for runewords since i don't think i can pack much MF on her. Im not extremely impressed by her pit running abilities though. But perhaps that is due to my lack of points in Dex? I will probably need to find those LoH's soon to up my dmg vs demons. As it is now, my trapper is alot faster even with MF-gear. But i will atleast run with her until level ~85.

    Thanks for reading!

grats. guardians are always a great achievement. with resurrectors i always waited till valk/merc had the mobs distracted then put myself on an angle to pump MA or GA at them. but that was SP where recklessness is next to godliness.

Using tal's helm. armour and belt give a good MF bonus.

Well done, all guardians get a big:thumbsup: from me

Vitality is good in HC, perhaps remake her with less vit and more dex for a challenge

Wave 2 skeletons are CI, as any baal running blizzsorc will tell you

EDIT: my strafer has fun in the pits, but watch out for the MS/cursed archers!! I once saw a fanat ESEF pack while getting to the pits, thankfully they decided to run to me instead of firing, so I had time to kill them

Re: Guardian #3 - Arrowa the WWS Strafer.

Thanks for the comments. I do actually have Tals armor and obviously helmet, but not the belt. (Quite odd to find the armor before the belt don't you think?)

I just looked at the bonuses from those 3 tal pieces. It might be a good idea to swap those items once i find the belt. It will require some investments in STR that i could have put in DEX but perhaps it's worth it. I do get a +dex bonus from the belt. I will also loose 20%ED, 10% DR and 6% LL and close to 100 life.

But what about my spare skill points? Is MS a good idea? How many hard points should i invest in it?

Lionhearththebrave: ah, you are correct! Instead i would advice anyone who tries to play a Strafer to carry Nature's Peace in cube or stash. I guess that will work at Wave 2 as it did in the Tombs. And Vitality is ofcourse very important in HC, but i still feel that this build is safe enough to get away with less hard points and go for damage and AR instead. I should have aimed for 1000 life. I hate it when it feels like you've messed up a build!

Corax: I also used that strategy, tried to find a good spot to hit the resurrectors with MA. But in places with alot of resurrectors, some of them champions and perhaps a bosspack it could get extremely frustrating.

Re: Guardian #3 - Arrowa the WWS Strafer.

The STR req is way too high, and the mods are not that great.

I will need 63%IAS and Knockback. With that in mind i've come up with this equipment setup to aim for:

    WWS with Shael+Nef
    Tal's Mask (Jewel of Fervor)
    Tal's Armor (Jewel of Fervor)
    Tal's Belt
    Laying of Hands
    War Travelers
    Rare rings and amu

This would give me 193 - 218 MF and with the extra res from Tal's Armor and Laying of Hands i could switch 2 small res charms to 2x7% MF.

It would also give me 70 IAS. So i could change the Shael in WWS to Jewel of Fervor.

I think i'll still be above 1k life even without Lionhearth.

But i still need to actually find LoH, WarT and Tal Belt

Congrats winmar! I just guardianed one of these as well. One suggestion would be to place Tomb Reaver on your merc. I found that between decrep from merc and amp damage from WWS, monsters were almost always cursed. As for where to place your extra points...I say get multi to about lvl 6 or 7. I use multi shot almost as much as strafe, especially in open areas like the Flayer jungle and chaos sanctuary. One thing that may help against baal is switching to guided arrow after baal has been cursed.

    Congrats on the nice guardian.

Re: Guardian #3 - Arrowa the WWS Strafer.

RIP: Thanks for the kind offer, but i will try to find them myself!

Gambitsreturn: Thanks! And congratulations to your Guardian aswell, i just read your thread. You managed to get by with 100 less Vit, nice job  I can also see that you use the same MF-gear that i'm planning to use once i find all the items. Is it working well in the Pits for you?

I guess you mean Reaper's Toll and not Tomb Reaver? It doesn't really matter since i don't have any of them! Im seriously lacking a decent merc weapon! I don't even got an Insight in an elite polearm yet! No Kelpie and no obedience. That Thresher Honor with 40 - 375 dmg is the best he can use for now. I did find Bonehew recently but the str req is redicoulous.

I will take your words for it and go with MS! I see that you have 1 point in FA aswell, do you use that alot or is it a waste of 2 points?

Re: Guardian #3 - Arrowa the WWS Strafer.

Thanks winmar! Ya I mean Reaper's Toll, I always get those 2 confused. I think you will like MS. I like to use it after amp has been cast on a large group. At first I thought that getting FA was a waste of points but after a few chaos sanctuary runs and pit runs I changed my mind. You have so many extra skill points that I dont think it hurts to invest a few to get FA.

I think my lightning trapper and my Fishyzon are quicker at Pit runs but my strafer is just so much fun.

Re: Guardian #3 - Arrowa the WWS Strafer.

Something that might help in cases like this is Howltusk. The rationale is that the minions will flee behind the shaman, leaving him right out in the open. My strafer and her merc (Act I rogue) wore Howltusk, and it worked very well. There's nothing more satisfying than shooting a retreating monster in the back.

    Congrats on the Guardian!

Congrats winmar. You know you can always use GA to kill act boss, no AR issue or worry about the aim.
