Group synergy question

So, I haven't been around since the very end of 1.08 so I doubt very highly if anybody remembers me. However, a few friends and I have come back to play around a bit. We will be playing from scratch, untwinked. There will be four of us as follows:

Barbarian
Wolf Druid
Trap Assassin
Sorceress

I will be playing the Sorceress. We will, of course, be playing in Hardcore. My question is this: seeing as how the assassin will more than likely end up going fire traps, it seemed to me that I should go for a cold build. Was considering either blizzard or orb/ES. My other thought was to have the assassin go lightning traps, and have me go fire. Between heart and BO, though, will I even need ES? Anyway, if anybody has any thoughts, please respond =]

Go Lighting traps with the Sin, Fireblast even gets quite a nice boost from the lighting traps for a decent back-up skill.

I'd go cold, because IMO, its probably the best for untwinked. Specifically, Blizzard. You do have a good point, with BO and Oak Sage (I think that what you meant by Heart) you should have decent life, so you wont really need ES, just still make sure to go block.

I'd do the following

Lighting Trapper
Blizzard without ES
Windy
Barb, well anything with Max BO should work, maybe WW?

Good luck and have fun!

Fire traps you get a bit earlier, but they tend not to do enough damage later on. They also have technical problems with them, last I heard, where the wake of fires have a hit-delay so that a monster getting hit by several different traps can actually only be hit a limited number of times, and the wake of inferno has such a small area of effect that it basically only hits things that are standing still.

As already mentioned as well, if you go with lit traps your fireblast will get strong enough to be a useful backup attack. If I remember, my previous lit trapper had like 3k damage on each at level 80 with only modest equipment (no trap GCs)

Barb is going to be awfully bored.......

Fireballers are a blast, you could go either Fire or Cold and be fine and if you do go with a Wind Druid it is probably best to not go cold and have an additional element by going Fire and cover them all.

Dont change your build unless you just want to, there is no reason a Barb+Wolf+Sorc+Trapper cant do just fine, but if you want to blow the game away with the best builds then yes change it up a bit.

Light Trapper
Wind Druid
Fireball/Met Sorc (Blizzard is fine but why not have all 3 elements)

Still think the Barb is going to be bored, sure you want BO......he best be Zerk or a Conc/Zerker and pay attention. Think Zerk would give him more things to do with shouts.

If you plan to tele around solo much I suggest getter the ES/TK for it.......

BTW, if you want realy synergy, some sick ares synergy take a Pally with Conviction instead of the Barb........ah hell, he will still be bored. Maybe Necro with Lower Resists and skellies....

Guess its all in what you want to do later, you may really want the BO, but I would be DAMN BORED, all those casters are going to chew everything up!!!

So, a slight update:

The current group looks like this:
WW Druid
Summon Necro
Lightning Sin
Me =]

Tried out blizzard, just didn't like it. For the moment, I'm working towards an Orb/ES build. Figure this way I'll at least be a bit more durable, especially if I need to solo at all. Not quite sure how many points to put into TK/ES or if I'll build up the Orb synergy, but we'll see how it goes. Level 25 right now, getting to 30 without spending points is a real hassle.

Yes an Orber can be a pain to level, at least till 24 for a minor blizzard.

I'd definitely max TK if you are using ES, they really isn't a reason not to IMO, unless you are going duel tree. As for ES itself, its up to you. I max it, but others only shoot for a certain %. If you don't max you should have enough for CM and Ice Bolt if you want. Or warmth for more mana regen.

I personally never put more than one in teleport, since I run an Insight/Prayer Merc and don't have to worry about running out of mana. Even if mana burned, I still don't miss a beat. Who needs a Kelpie to slow Mephy when I can stand point blank to him and tank him, and even IF I get damaged, its regenerated quick enough.
