I figured I'd eventually get this plan again so I jumped on the AH to see these things are selling in the hundreds of millions. Am I missing something here? I've never sold anything at a price like this and it doesn't really add up to me. People must really want the updated version I guess...

As far as I can tell, since the AH is going away in three weeks, prices are spiking for just about everything. My friends are even selling Star gems for a profit, despite the fact that at lvl 61, Marquise gems start dropping the way Flawless Squares do now. I suppose that the reason for the price spike is the convenience of the AH, but even still, it seems ridiculous to me how expensive everything is. For me, it doesn't matter that much, since I have basically every plan/item that matters to me. I don't care too much about lvl 60 plans, since I'll still have to find their lvl 70 equivalents in RoS. However, it's a pain for lower level players: one of my friends started up again for the first time in a year, and we couldn't get him the Archon Gloves of Dex because they cost 150 million. Basically, I'd suggest either manipulating this by selling gems for cheap, like my friends are doing, or just ignoring it. It will be gone in three weeks anyway, and since the item levels are jumping as well, none of this stuff will be important for anything other than leveling alts.

and whats the point what u gonna do with all that gold when ah is closed? just craft or? i think the kill a big aspect in this game i will miss the ah.. i hate crafting takes forever to get something good and costs also its not what i call fun....

There's five gold sinks in the game.

AH: Gone in 12 days, pointless until then.
Gem crafting: Pointless now, will matter later.
Item crafting: Pointless now, will matter later.
Gambling(?): Doesn't exist now, will be good later.
Enchanting: Doesn't exist now, will be good later.

Gold is useful, just not immediately. And not in the massive quantities other people are saying. The best thing you can do if you have a billion or more is sell off 50 mil per 5 USD until you're down to around 100 million or so.

I just take comfort in the fact that I can use the mystic without running out of gold too soon.
