Phase Blades a lot faster than Berserker Axes. It really depends on the build you're using for your character. Tell us that, and we might be able to help you better.

How about for a Fanat Zealot? Or rather what things should we consider when choosing a weapon depending for the build.

ie AS, weight compared to dam?

With respect to Grief, base damage is more or less irrelevant in comparison to the 340-400 bonus damage. The most important factor is speed, followed by range IMO.

Check here to find out which weapon will suit your needs best, with respect to speed.

Phase blades have the speed, but Berzerker axes have the range. It's all down to do you want speed or distance?

it also matters if this is PvM or PvP. If its PvM then some say there are better options for a zealot weapon (stormlash).

I was wondering about this question too! Which is better Grief in PB or Grief in BA?

Possible builds that i'm thinking of are:

Frenzy barb - Which is better?
WW barb -?
Fanazealot - ?
Furydruid -?
Frostzealot -?
Tesladin -?

i'm not listing the equipment because i'm interested in which weapon is the best allround to make the runeword into!

If you want to know why they picked the pb it's becuase it looks much better, depending on your taste of course.

The difference between a pb and a ba isn't a small one, ba is much better since it's and exeptional elite weapon, but then again it's all about taste.

I don't understand this... a weapon can't be both exceptional and elite. Phase Blades and Berserker Axes are both elite weapons.

A BA would be better only for a fana-zealot who would need just 10% for a phase blade, assuming L25 fanaticism. If you want to keep your options open, better put it into a phase blade.

It's dangerous to make Grief into a BA if it's meant for a WW barb, as you need a 34+% or 35+% one to reach the final breakpoint.

Damn (sorry fo swearing) :D This only makes my life harder when making grief...Grief in PB for a wwbarb looks awfull...imo that is...

I think he meant "exceptional" as the dictionary describes it. "Extraordinary" would probably have been a better choice of words in order to avoid confusion.

I think that grief is best for smite paladin... i have Grief at Phase blade on my smite paladin and it owns... and there is a (bug) looks like grief don't add dmg to smite but it does... :)

For a ww Sword barb, nothing beats the Zweihander(2 handed exceptional flamberge) for making grief in. It does moderate dmg(not really important with grief) always hits the last ww breakpoint, and has a range of 3. Berzerker's Axes are way, way to slow to risk making grief in yourself, but if you are trading for one and rich enough to get one fast enough, do what you want.
