Graphics Card.. Look at the Colors!!!

I am sick of crappy gameplay and have decided to get a better graphics card. I am cheap, so I picked 3 at my work (discount) and do not know which one to grab.

3 options:

GeForce MX 4000

Asylum Geforce FX 5200

GeForce FX 5500 OC<----I am looking at that one because of all the good stuff I have heard about it.

I have a Dell Dimension DIM 3000, 2.66 GHz Celeron With 512 MB or RAM.

So, which one would be the best compatable and yet still fit?

I'd look at a Radeon instead. While the current high ends are a toss up (GeForce 6 series versus Radeon X series), Nvidia's previous generation (the FX 5 series) just couldn't stand up to similar generation Radeons.

Raist, the best option would be a Radeon...

BUT, from the one' you posted, I'd say GeForce FX 5500 OC ...The GeForce Mx series was obnoxiously bugged from what I heard...

I never heard good things about the MX series either, but I'm no graphics card pro. All I know is when my friends look for cards from that era, they almost always go Radeon, 9600, 9800, somewhere around there. I"ve never heard of anyone buying a GeForce MX.

Taken from another forum I go to.

A note about GeForce cards: The GeForce 4 MX is a misnomer; it is actually more like a GeForce 2 MX than it is like a GeForce 4. The actual order of quality in GeForce cards goes as follows (from worst to best):

GeForce2 MX
GeForce4 MX
GeForce3 TI
GeForce4 TI
GeForce FX

I agree with those who say "take a look at Radeon." If you decide to go Radeon instead, though, stay away from the 'SE' versions of cards. Go with 'PRO' or 'XT' instead.

Thers is one Radeon there, but I do not remember the Type, but I believe it is only 128 MB. And I recall it is the most common video card returned for our store. Who knows, all the local buyers might be idiots for all I know.

It looks like The 5500 is the recomended one, But the main question, is it compatable with my CPU? Will it fit? Nothing more would tick me off if everything goes as planned and the damn thing does not fit.

Found a Radeon 9550 AGP 8x/4x 256 mb DDR. How does that compare to the GeForce, and will it My computer meet the requirements?

Arent Dell those computers that are near impossible to upgrade?

The RAM yeah, as I discovered when Looking to upgrade mine for WoW.

The video card issue is a bit easier to work out though. It also depends on which Dell system it is.

@Raist, if you are upgrading a Dell you should go to dells webite and search for parts using your system service tag# that way you can see what is compatible and then ( for some parts depending on your system ) may be able to get them elsewhere for less $$.
