    Graphics card (driver) problems.

I just got a new graphics card on the work computer, but it seems the driver is messing up when playing videos. For example I try to whatch something in windows media player and the collors are all greenish/pink sort of flickering. I'm fairly sure it's driver related since it happened after installing the new card, and we tried uninstalling the drivers and everything worked well then (except for the really bad resolution).

There was also problems with the sound when whatching things from for example youtube. We didn't get any sound at all, but I figured that out.

So anyone else had similar problems and found a solution? I've tried updating the driver, but no luck there.

Did you download the latest drivers for your gfx card instead of reinstalling those from the CD (which are usually an early version) ? I had problems with mine as well when replaying videos (GeForce A7600 GT).

Sometimes you also need to reset your video settings after installing new drivers. I had a similar problem with an nVidia driver about a year ago and it was driving me crazy, but changing things in the nVidia control panel fixed everything.

I havn't tried the newest drivers yet, but my co-worker did and it changed nothing. I'm going to try and download it anyway and then reset the video settings.

    Btw it's a Asus EAH2400 XT card.

Just remember, it's the video settings on the card you need to adjust, not the settings on the computer. In my case the Brightness, Gamma and Contrast had been reset so that when I got a picture at all it was extremely dark even with all video settings on the PC set to the highest.

Check out the bios update for the motherboard - techs see the card listed as compatible and stick it in, when the bios version that makes it compatible is not on your motherboard yet.

Also, just installing new drivers over the old ones might lead to prooblems as well. Uninstall the old ones first.

    Re: Graphics card (driver) problems.

So we figured out now. It wasn't driver related after all, but we had to turn down/off video acceleration. I havn't tested it much yet, but at least in windows media player it seems to work just fine.

Thanks for all the help though! :)
