    goodbye

This will be my "goodbye" thread as I leave for my wedding and honeymoon. I'll be gone starting this afternoon and through all of next week. I will be back about the first of March or there abouts.

I fly out at the crack of 630 tomorrow morning so I have to wake at 3 am to catch the 415 train to get to the airport at 530. Yikes but who cares. I can sleep on the train and the plane.

A friend at work suggested I get myself a haircut and a mancure/pedicure today. I was planning a haircut anyhow but I hadn't considered a manicure dealio. Do you all think it's a good idea? Would she even notice? I am not against it at all but, if I'm gonna pay $30 for one, I want to make sure they're worth it. My friend says they are so now I'm scouring you all for opinions, manicure or no manicure?

So, I fly out Thursday, marry Saturday early afternoon and we will be honeymoon bound Sunday afternoon. We're not doing anything special right now, just spending time alone together. No phones, no family and no visits.

Thoughts, well wishes and so on if you want. I will see you all in a couple weeks!

congrats, best wishes, have a great time...

as to the question, not knowing your wife it's probably hard for us to advise you. i have a hard time imagining a pedicure/manicure being better than some careful personal grooming, but then again i've never done the pedi/mani, maybe i'm just not enlightened. 30 bucks for it seems like a waste to me tho.

I would say nay to the manicure, unless your hands are in pretty bad shape. I just don't see it as necessary, but I may be wrong.

    Congratulations and good luck.

women notice so unless you are flying to San Fran for one of those weddings your special some one will likely see. Go for it and report back with how it works out

Fantastic, Sarge, congrats! Where are you getting married?

I say go for the manicure. It's not that expensive, and if you have the time, you will enjoy it. Plus, it's an excellent way to schedule in some down-time. That's tough to do the day of or the day before a wedding, and it's much needed. It'll give you time to relax, reflect on the moment and appreciate your surroundings. Plus, she will appreciate it.

    Congrats Sarge.

How do I manage to miss these things? I had no idea Sarge was getting married until I read this.

Dross, I never really mentioned it here. It's been in my blog for some time now.

So don't feel bad. Aside from my blog, I haven't been blabbing it in chat all that much.

So I think I'm gonna go ahead and get a manicure/pedicure since it's only about $30 and I'm only gonna do it this once. I mean, it is for a good reason... Women appreciate soft hands and feet, especially in the first week of marriage. *wink*

Congrats and best wishes, Sarge. I reckon you'll make a good husband and I'm sure you picked a winner for a spouse. May I ask what type of ceremony?

[joke mode on]I don't care what prophet Smith said, let's try and keep it to under 5 kids...that doesn't mean you cant practice *wink*, *nudge*.[/end]
