This is the tuner barb, but I don't see how they can get max block setup with a bvc default changing into bvb status...is it viable?
Bigrob's guide is more based on the BvB side of things. Also the stats are a tad incorrect.

As for BvAs, they are viable, but they just require some extreme wealth to outperform a BvC in a public game. I personally think that a BvA is a low def BvB and a low life BvC, thus pretty useless. However some people just got a thing on beating BvBs.

Also, on BvAs, I would have to say that Leap takes priority over Iron Skin. Leap needs to be at least lvl 19 with your BvC setup, then the rest can go into Shout/Iron Skin.

I think Dyn's guide is pretty much based on a BvA point of a view. Remember to check where he recommends a shield. I think it's like 2 match-ups only.

Note: this tuner build would actually require you to put alot more strength than what Ce Olba said about 65 strength base...you'd need 100 or so, for it to equip all items and still have decent one hand damage and max block.
Actually, I'd say 63 with perfect gear, due to 63+40+15=118, 118+20=138=enough for Grief/Hel SS.

Or then you could go with Eld SS and go with 81 base str.

And this takes into account only str from Arreats, Draculs and torch+anni. Of course the +stats are perfect. If you want to go with a Guillaume's Face, you will need to add another 5 str or put a Fal or a ed/str jewel in it.

As for maximum blocking, you will need 118 base dex with a Eld Stormshield and Arreats, using dual Angelics, or 133 with another socket in Stormshield.

yeah BvA is viable but its a cross bettween bvb and BvC. it also takes alot of stat balancing to be able to get good defence and enough leap to be usefull vs casters.

I used a bvA, it works but when u meet a pure bvb u will be probably outclassed due to the higher dmg bvbs have and higher defence and ar.

I made BvC as i find BvB duels boring and annoying and also BvC can kill pretty much anything else apart from the best bvbs.

Do not forget the balance between AR and Life that comes to to equation too. In BvB, you want high AR and Damage, in BvC you want high life, decent AR, so it can get complicated.

The thing is that a BvA needs brains to beat a BvB, whereas a BvB only needs to whirl to beat a BvA.

I made a BvC long before my friend came back to D2. When he got back, he made a BvB, so I ended up watching lots of BvB matches. 98% of them are boring, only the rest 2% have actually got something interesting, such as one of the sides planning their whirls or trying to make up a "trap" for the other side.

I'd really like to see barbs duel barbs with Enigmas, that would make it possible to triwhirl and telewhirl and it would not be as boring as it is now.

Yeah there is alot of balancing to do, and it does require top gear to be effective.

It is interesting when a bvc gets hosted by a bvb and u have to use widowmaker etc but in the worst cases, the bvb is using enigma, which they can tele ontop of u and dmg u badly while still having Widowmaker out.
