Good Grief!! (A greif question)

So, I finally got the grief I've been saving for, as I have a smiter pally. All of the guides I have read said that grief is the way to go because of the huge bonus to straight up damage. When I got it though, it didn't effect my damage at all... um... why not...? Please help!

Thanks,
EclipseOTO

+damage from Grief does not show on the Lying Character screen, but it actually adds. For an experiment, buy a buckler from Charsi in Normal difficulty, go to Hell Eldritch, and smite him with the buckler without using Holy Shield.

Yup, just go bash some things with it. You'll notice the difference.

Yeah, I noticed that when I attacked mephisto in hell, it takes about 2 seconds to kill him now, hahaha! Thanks guys!

Sure thing. Are we not linking the German site anymore? I just realized I haven't seen it linked in awhile. There's a weapon damage calculator on a site that I can't seem to find my link to now, actually, that allows you to calculate your true damage if you're interested. Perhaps someone else can provide the link if it's still kosher.

The diablo2.ingame.de site is OK, as long as you don't link to their forums (which would be pointless anyway).

Thanks (again) for the clarification, krischan.

I realized I couldn't find my link because I was barking up the wrong tree. Here is the weapon damage calculator I use that allows you to more accurately account for things like +damage from Grief if you're interested in having a look.
