Good gear for a melee necro I'm thinking of making a high strength melee oriented build with the following gear. 3-socket helm w/ 3 IAS Jewels (45%) Obedience made from a thresher (cheap, fun, polearm - no IAS ) Fortitude Armor (300% ED, awesome other stats) Gold Wrap (10% IAS) Disciple Laying of Hands Bramble Mitts (20% IAS) Goblin Toe (additional CB) Angelic Amu + Ring to make up for lousy AR (no dex on this build) 1 Open Ring slot. I want to break the 70% IAS barrier, but can't think of a way to do it without resorting to that crappy helmet. Is there a way to do it without ditching the angelics? I know there is some armor in the game with IAS, but fort's ED, resists, and high Def are important. Are there any better gloves or belts in the game?
There are no other belts, gloves or boots with more IAS. So I don't see you reaching the 70% IAS without sacrificing some of your gear. Why is it so important to reach the 12 fpa mark? Isn't 14 fpa fast enough?
if u want that helmet (or need) do it with 40/15 or 30/15 or something in between wich lets u bee a phys variant
Not true...Nosferatu's Coil gives 15% IAS, and Sigon gloves+boot gives 30%IAS, also IK gloves+boot gives 25%IAS...Although this is probably not going to change much...just wanted to point out that other options do exist... Also what is up with all the meleemancer questions...
I thought there was some kind of bug with ED jewels where they only effected the minimum damage or something if they weren't put directly on the weapon. Between amp damage, the lvl 21 enchant, and the 670% ED from the weapon and the armor, I'm willing to be impatient and just put together a sloppy helm at first. It's going to be a silly build anyway.
I think that is only for jewels with both +%enhanced damage and +min/max damage...as long as he uses +%enhanced damage and +15%IAS jewel he should be fine.
Both Arreat and d2data have it at 10%. Totally forgot about the set combo's. Meleemancers are the shizz. Say Chimaira, mind PM-ing me your experiences with using a Meleemancer? I could help me improve my guide.
They're both right...sorry. It did have 15% in 1.09 though...guess I'm having a hard time adjusting to this new crazy patch. Sorry Mad Mantis I don't have any practical Meleemancer experience....I'm just extrapolating from "normal" melee builds that I have experience with and then applying some common sense...I also know the curses from playing with a summoner.
