Good Character for..

Dumping all my wealth into? I have a lot of currency and such from trade lists but they don't really go anywhere, and unlike in real life, money dies the longer you hold onto it in Diablo. =/

So, suggestions? Keep in mind this will be my first "real" PvP character so a CC build or something along that will probably do best. I don't mind if I can't afford the gear at first (ie. 3/x/20's for a barb). Dumping all extra money into the character is what I'm looking for. Something that uses resist/life SC's is ideal.

Except hammy builds confuse me. So if you post a character type, try to help with the build, too? I might make a new topic for that, though.

I wouldnt make a Hdin ur first PvP char they can be hard to use right.Still having probs with my lvl 91 Hdin :p. Make a Windy,FireBall Sorc, or a Boner for ur first pvp char they usualy can pwn.Windy was my first pvp and I enjoyed using him.The thing about those three is u have 2 tele and cast a lot which will get u ready when u want to make a Hdin or something.Hope I helped some :)

Well, you have to realize that being rich means I'm at least good at PvM..

I can tele decently. Not well or standard level, but.. decently? I also happen to have/had 3 level 9x hammerdins.

Well in Elite duels a hdin usually has to tele,Aura switch,Aura switch,Cast and it gets hard sometimes.

Bowazons are a great way to spend wealth, as an inventory of 3/20/20s and 3/3/20s will ensure that you spend a lot of wealth away. Besides, everybody has a soft spot for bowas.

Failing which, I would go for a pally hybrid or a ww/trap sin to spend wealth.

Edit: Who the heck voted for Chuck Norris? Everyone knows that getting roundhouse kicked by him is priceless.

Bowa's are pretty =s. Especially since playing 1.09 as a kid. But the problem with them would be that max/mod or etc are hard to get compared to resist/lmod charms.

I think my brother's making a trapper. But the way they spend wealth is pretty much the opposite of what I want, I think. Their claws are 30 hrs-ish. I wanted more like 15 sets of 2 hr items.

Paladins are pretty accurate to what I want except that I don't get their equipment build. And something about them seems to be not so fly for a white guy.

Oh, and I voted for Chuck Norris. I wanted to see what everyone else voted for and checking view poll results more than once is aoshgosigsahog.

Actually, I value 20/5s more than 3/20/20s. One has universal usage, one does not.

Actually, I think ww/trap sins cost far more than that if you are going for the mythical claw. I would look at 4 figures of hrs for that claw alone, but it could be worth it if you collect such stuff.

What isnt there to get about pallys? Pcombs with as good mods as possible, and the rest would be life/stack/fcr/fhr/max block gear.

A BvC would be fun to play with. I'm planning on making one once I'm done w/ my V/S. Then again, who knows if I'll still be playing at that time, lol.

Necros are probably the hardest characters to play, they require alot of skill. I would go for a Bowazon or FoH or Smiter if its your first PvP character.

Make a Windy. Easy minion stack and non absorbable damage with high life. Kills most Paladin variants quite easily. You'll have problems with Assassins in general, though.

Out of the 3 pvp chars I have made (Hdin, Smiter, Bone necro) Bone necro by far is the most fun to play. Bone necros have some real nice features that make them amazing at pvp. Bone necros have an amazing arsenal of useful skills. Bone prsions, curses, homing bspirits, bspears to snipe with, minion stack. They are just amazing once you learn how to play with one. Bone prisoning and decrping smiters is so much fun :). People will probably get mad at you for either usign bone prisons and pwning them or I have even gotten complaints about teleing to muhc...? Apparently its bm to not stand in one spot for smiters to charge your face off...got to love pubs.

I meant single res/life. And I meant gear as in shako, etc. The claw isn't going to be that good, obviously. And four figure trades are hard as hell to do.

..Necros? In pubs, they could just BSpirit AFAIK.

And, well. Windies would be good in the way they work, but not in their gear.

Mostly looking for a character to dump HR's into their gear. But if each item costs like, 100 hrs, it would be hard to store 99 hrs until then.. Get it? . _ .

I'd recommend a bone necro...

Gear upgrades and build options are virtually limitless.

They're easy to use for beginners, just running and spamming spirit.
And still pretty damn good as you progress to a decent dueler.
And godly as **** in the hands of a G_G dueler.

Not to mention they're fun.

This is why I wanted single res/life charms.

*trade for 30 hrs*
Trade 2 hrs to person one for 1st single res/life charm
*repeat with 2*
etc.

While windies use skillers.

And, well, necros have the same problem, I think.

But I guess I could just make one of those and keep the charms extra anyway? I need something to store the wealth as, essentially. Any ideas? :/

Well, whenever a character uses skillers those should have life on top of +1 to a skill tree so we are no longer talking cheap unless you are making a curse necromancer.

I am not sure about prices where you play but 1-2 hrs for a life/res scs sound too cheap unless both life and res are not perfect. You should aim for 20 life (18-19 might be ok as well) and 7+ res imo.

Rare and crafted items with good mods cost small fortunes (or big fortunes), perfect jewels cost a lot.

PvP is never cheap if you want top tier gear

I would either go with a bone nec or a windy for the first char btw :)

well, there is shortage of PC skillers all the time, so hammer/smiter/ and any other skiller using variant would be nice.
Any decent skillers (pb, shadow, java, sorc, etc, etc) with life is also sellable so these are something that you can take. Sometimes its harder to sel more rarer items (3/20/20. demands are there but not so affordable as some life skillers)
anyway, voted for necro as all my wealth is going to him. Fun char with possible golem and decrep when you need. :p

EDIT* oh well, mike pointed out points I was trying to point out. =D

I'd vote for hammerdin :p duh. You really need 'bout 4 -5 skillers at all and put rest into sc's. Plus stash items for all occasions (so u can do few different flavours pvp, pvm, trist...) The fun option would be to spare all your hrs for game gold and seriously get into gambling. That's an addictive sport though ;)

edit: You may also consider getting into lld, this can involve a fortune and a lot of time to spend, but provides lot of fun for sure.
