My goldfind necro is equipped as follows:

Ali Baba
Homunc
Wealth
Maras
Chancies
Goldwrap
Infernostrides
2x Dwarf Star
CoT

My Merc has Fort, Infinity Eth CV, and Andys.

For some reason, I'm unable to do hell trav quickly. I normally run Pindle for skellies, then go to Trav. My skeletons and merc proceed to die quickly, then I run away.

I have a beast zerker that I found on a mule. Will the survivability compensate for the ~280 GF that I lose? Also, is there something I'm doing wrong? This is my first summoner, I admit, but I don't think there's a problem with my strategy. Amp/CE while waiting for skellies/revives/merc to take everything down.

One more question. Which of Infinity/Insight/Ebotd WP is the best choice for my merc? He's an Act 2 Might merc.

Any advice/opinions/comments will be greatly appreciated.

have arm of leoric or hoto on switch with homun or spirit. raise your skels then switch to your gf stuff. torchs also help a ton.

What level are you and your merc? With a merc that well equipped he should be able to survive quite well - even when amp'ed. Mine is wearing almost the same as yours (Stone in Eth bugged Laq. plate; 4.5k def, Infinity Eth CV and Andys) and he's never even close to dying. Currently lvl 89.

I assume you have 20 points in Raise Skeleton and Skeleton Mastery and 1 point in Summon resists? Even though you have a relatively low amount of +skills with that setup, your skeletons should be fairly durable. If you don't have it already, try to get hold of an Anni and a Torch (you can sometimes get low necro-torches for next to nothing, e.g. pgems - at least on Europe).

If that's not an option, try to trade for some summon-skillers. Unless your entire inventory is filled with +GF charms, of course.

Also, switch that CoT to a +3summon + GF circlet 2sox with 2 lems.

Only good GF characters are barbs imo. high BO+Find Item (x2 goldamount) = winner. Skills like Leap and Warcry makes the barb even more superior to other classes. Battlecry makes them having less defense and damage. More reasons why to take a barb instead?

Either way ur merc has to be very strong since u depend on his arab *** (as most gf characs). Infinity is a very nice RW, but imho nothing beats the raw damage, speed and insane LL of BOTD. I use a eth upped CoT(680def), Eth Forti(3,8defense), Eth BOTD Ghostspear. 10K dmg + 26LL + 5,5K life (i bo with Ondals so missing +2WC from +3 WC sticks) + 40Kdefense = immortality
