Gloams :X

Ok, I have a level 82 MF fishymancer, but I die constantly to the gloams in WSK. I have 75 lightning resist and 800 HP, but I round a corner and die instantly to about 50 bolts of gloam lightning. How in the world am I supposed to survive? Any suggestions?

Run. Or get lightning absorb. The problem is, that 75 light res won't help you much if you only have 800 hp. Souls hurt, and bad. Either make a new game, or throw on a tgods for a little while. Also, a decent level Dim Vision helps. If you see lightning get shot at you, throw a quick DV in that general direction and you should be good, as long as you don't get too close. 1point should be enough with +skills to get a decent radius.

Yeah, I went the max block route, so not many points into vita yet. Tgods is a good suggestion, thanks.

Thundergod's vigor will make your gloam problems go away.

Just, you know, don't try to tank them with Lower Resist cast on you or Conviction under your feet...Unless you've got your res stacked(Hard to do and maintain tons of MF like most folks like to carry)

Surprised no one has mentioned the most obvious and easiest solution:

Dim Vision

Use it. Love it.

Anybody have statistics on the exact (or even approximate) Gloam damage range?

I know that it hits on a per-frame basis, so Tgods basically stops it cold, but what's the actual damage?

Use these to beat the gloams:

1. Dim vision curse
2. Thundergod's vigor war belt
3. Two wisp projector rings (10-20% lightning absorb each)
4. Lightsabre sword (25% lightning absorb)
5. Tactical position and dodging

For me, just dim vision and a single wisp projector suffices for solo baal runs.
