Ghost (Trapper) in Hell

Seeing as this build is primarily lightening damage with physical being dealt by the merc and some from the SM, foresee difficulties dealing with all the LI immunes in Hell. No to mention the occasional LI/PI. Is this really viable without adding another element?

I thought ghosts are trappers with WW and venom. In that case, there's probably enough damage types going around (never played one myself, though).

If you mean by pure trappers, there's death sentry, which you must max (for synergy, at least), and does corpse explosion. You can also go fire blast if you want more damage types.

I wont comment on whether a ghost trapper can even get to hell let alone clear hell. Fade can be gotten from other items/weapons on switch and at best is a one point wonder, though some people only ever use it when facing the ubers or maybe champion gloam pack.

Be very sure you want to waste any points in fade before spending them.

You wont have too many difficulties with LI's really. Any LI's/PI's that you encounter (very rare) can easily be avoided if the 3 of you cant deal with them.

1) Get a lower resist wand from the vendors. use this on LI's. It breaks most of them and easily killable.

2) if it doesn't break the immunity, get a corpse happening and just Death sentry the lot of them.

3) If you cant do either of the above, Mindblast them to bits.

4) If all else fails, use the sins incredible BOS and just move on to the next mob.

Fade: This skill is what help give the Ghost her name. With this nifty aura on you look translucent...kinda...cloaked like the Terran ghost units in Starcraft. You don't turn invisible in D2 with this aura, but you do gain a LOT of resistance, and gain 1% DR per skill level! On top of that curse duration gets cut by a lot too. This is your primary aura. Now, depending on how safe you feel (and depending on how much resists your other gears give you), you may want to max it, or leave it at as little as 10 points! Personally I invested 12 in it, and my +skills boosted it to 20, and I'm happy with it at that level I think. 10-20 points.
What a pile of willows. A trapper is a caster not melee, so the 1% DR is pretty useless and also easily obtained by gear.

The extra res is good against the ubers, but otherwise a few charms and this is also covered.

The translucency does look really cool, but we have to sacrifice this 'coolness' in order to kill anything!

I know you said you wouldn't comment, but I assume you mean this build would have a tough time even getting to hell? Honestly I'll level 50 just started act 4 and I am unstoppable. Part of the reason I took this build was because it mentions being less gear dependent.
Thanks for the info.

How many of the 80 points have you put into traps?
How many of the 80 points do you plan on putting into traps?
Got some good gear?

Normal and Nm are easy. Hell is a different ball game.

OK I concede, he will get to hell easily, becasue any class untwinked and with no skill points spent can get to hell.

I could be wrong and usually am, but im scared that once you get there, you may not be killing much in hell.

I know from experience, it can be very frustrating to go into the den of evil in hell and laugh at how impossible it is to hurt anything.

I just finished hell with my fishyzon, so I have a feel for the difference between the 2, and I know that it is significant. Time will tell I guess. I have found some decent uniques, not sure what all I have though. No IK soulcage, I know that for sure :)
