Ghost gear question

I've got two choices on how I should gear my sin. I'm looking at these two builds in particular because they hit the IAS, FHR and FCR BP's with a Suwayyah/Runic combo.

1) 2/18 FCR amulet + Bloodfist + 2x 30ish lifer GC's

or

2) Highlord's + Trang's gloves + 2x FHR GC's

??

(1) has a lot more life and an extra skill point from the amulet, but (2) has more poison damage, Deadly Strike and Lightning Res (which isn't maxed yet even with Fade >.< I'm off by like 12 res).

Which is better, or can it be situational? I can get away with swapping gear if it is, 'cause I already have it all and there's room in my stash for everything.

for one, you should never use any gloves besides trangs for a ghost. the 25% pd gets compounded because of the double application (bug?), so it actually adds 56% more poison damage. that should be the one thing that never changes.

highlords is pretty crap on a ww-sin. physical damage isn't a huge part of your make-up. go with the 2/18 ammy.

Not a bug imo. Its the way any elemental mastery (+elemental damage%) interacts with elemental damage on weapon based attacks.
And it also increases skill damage when venom is being cast.

Also vouch trangs = only choice of gloves for wwsin.

Depends on the claws you use.

If you are using damage over time build with 9x gcs and fools Um'd claws with low ed%, 2/18 would be the better choice, that being the more traditional setup, possibly using ow%/fhr belt with circlet or arach with coa.
If you use eth glitch suwayyahs or scissor suwayyahs (avaliable on the realms) for chaos, or even regular suwayyah with eth repair fools runic having a decent ed%, and use inv of 2x shadow/fhr gcs with rest being 320/x scs.. highlords suddenly becomes the better amulet choice for a wwsin.
Note: suwayyah/runic wsm bugged is -45 wsm (19+ ias for 9 frame traps on fade) so if you can get your hands on an 08 highlords, that is really the best choice imo for this type of build.

Do *not* underestimate physical damage on a wwsin.
Even if they are better known for venom/ow hit and run because of the use of full shadow disc builds on bnet. With the right equipment wwsins can pack quite a punch using physical damage and tight whirls around opponents.

If you don't have nice claws and are just looking for ow/venom damage, then yeah use crafted amulet for more resists/damage and flexibility with equipment instead, highlords isnt worth it unless you build your build around physical damage, in which case it owns. What claws are you thinking of using?

i still think its at least partially a bug though, because the double application doesn't get applied to missles, even though it says so on the char screen. bleh, no one understands blizz.

I actually have my sin built already, I just wanted a reason to use that 2/18 ammy. =p I can't use it however because then I wouldn't hit the max trap-laying speed without the Highlord's IAS. And I'm not a fan of claw bugging, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the circlet I have now (3/20/2 with 2x 15 res/15 ias)... But my claws are as follows:

Fury Suwayyah: 2 MB, 1 LS, 3 Fade
Chaos Runics: 3 Venom

I want to hit the 65 FCR BP, the max trap-laying speed, 42 Fade and 48 FHR. I believe I need 42 IAS outside of the claws to get 9 frame traps, right (I think...)? I really want to use that ammy but my setup won't allow me to... I'm not adamant on continuing to use that Suwayyah, but good, fast claws are a real pain in the *** to find and/or trade, so I'm thinking of ways to fix up what I already have. That said, with the Fury as the primary claw, I only have the circlet to give me IAS, that being 30...

OWAIT, I just realized that even with the Bloodfist I wouldn't have gotten max trap-laying speed. Lolz. My mind must've been playing tricks on me. Regardless, I guess this is a good time to get tips on how to improve my sin. =D

EDIT: oh yeah, I have a Fool's GT of the Bear in the stash as well, but it only has 1 Um in it... =[ Notable mods include 1 Venom and 1 MB.

the trap laying bp is based on both claws, so your WSM right now is -15. 42%ias is the BP for -30 WSM (2x gt's), but right now with -15 WSM you need 75% ias for 9 frame trapping.

p.s. you can use your 2/18 and replace spider with a verdungos, which gives you the freedom to swap to tgods if you fight trappers etc.

I'm not very good with ias BP's and WSM's and such...but if I need 75% for 9 frames, do I get to subtract the 35% from the Fury (primary claw) and look for the extra 40% elsewhere?

yep thats right. subtract 40% from the fury if its your primary, and they you'll need 35% from other places in your gear. just remember that your IAS on the secondary claw doesn't count.

the easy fix would be to WSM bug, which would give you a WSM of -45, which needs only 19% IAS. buying a GT chaos would make it easier as well. (-30 wsm = 42% ias)

Ah, okay. I don't like bugging too much, so it looks like I will have to continue searching for a suitable Suwayyah replacement... Looks like my sin isn't quite perfect yet. v_v

And it looks like I gotta start crafting! =p An OW belt with 24 FHR and other stats sounds like a perfect spider replacement if I'm gonna use that ammy, because I hate the idea of carrying around 3 FHR GC's to hit that 48 BP with only the 10 FHR from my rare boots.

if you're going to try something unorthodox, try a hsarus boot/belt combo so you can use fury and still have decent AR.
