Ghost assassin guide IF YOU HAVE A MORAL ISSUE WITH DUPES PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS GUIDE This guide will cover the basic gear/stats of the ghost assassin build. I’m writing this from work so the editing and formatting won’t be incredible. I may edit it in the future. The ghost assassin is a build that people associate with Kodachi, or Koda- a well known ww assassin on USEast. I thought I should give him credit for popularizing the build and proving that it is extremely effective, although the principles behind the ghost (65 fcr, enigma, and fast trap laying) had been used by others before he made this build famous. The ghost assassin is a variant of a whirlwind assassin, although nowdays it has become the standard build of top players on USEast. This build is made for pvp exclusively, and is very versatile. The basic principle behind the ghost build is the use of speed and mobility rather than pure damage. Whirlwind assassins are thought of as caster killers, but the truth is, a good caster will consistently beat a ww assassin who uses bramble, suwayyahs, and has little or no fcr. Dflight takes 24 frames to land, which is too slow to catch a fast teleporting caster. Suwayyahs will not hit the fastest trap laying speed, which means stunlock will be harder to establish, and without decent fcr, your mindblasts will be too slow. The ghost assassin is geared towards fighting casters, but the great thing about it is that it can also handle almost all melee classes easily as well. Whirlwind is just a superior skill to any other melee skill, so even without bramble and suwayyahs, most melee should be very easy to beat. Here is the equipment of the ghost build. This is for Non-Ladder. Helm: 1.08 Valk. This is considered the staple of the ghost build. The fcr lets you hit the 65 breakpoint. The frw lets you escape bone spirits if you are slowed by clay golem. Fhr is always great. The ias lets you lay traps at the fastest trap laying speed. - Shael Alternative helm: While a .08 valk is considered the staple of this build, a godly circlet could be better, although it would be incredibly hard to find. For example, a circlet with +2 assassin skills, 20%fcr AR% on character level and 2 sockets would be a better choice than a .08 valk. You could socket it with 2 x 15ias/15res all jewels to still make sure you hit the fastest trap laying speed. Alternate helm #2: Shako. This helm should be kept in the stash, and only worn vs melee when you do not need fcr. Claw: Fury Feral claws. Claw: Chaos Runic Talons. These claws let you hit the fastest trap laying speed. For those of you who think that the extra damage from Suwayyahs is more important than laying traps faster, I can confidently say that you are mistaken. However, Suwayyahs can be kept in the stash for use against melee when you will not be trying to establish stunlock. Skills to look for on claws: Venom/Fade – If prebuff isn’t allowed or you don’t like spending the time to do it. Mindblast – Most important skill for a ghost. You will be doing a lot of damage with this. Dflight/WoF/LS – Saves you skill points since you don’t need the prereqs Weapon block – Saves you points Armor: Enigma. This is the only armor you should use with this build. Enigma allows you to go base strength therefore giving you higher life, and of course allows you to teleport, which is essential to winning duels in 1.10. While it would be nice to have a bramble to switch to vs. melee, it’s not worth investing the extra str into your assassin just to wear an armor against classes that you can already beat without it. Amulet: USEast - Stormhide duped amulet. Other servers without good duped assassin amulet use Maras. Amulet #2 – Angelic vs melee Belt: Arachnids. Lets you hit the 65 fcr breakpoint Belt #2: Verdungos. Use this vs melee when you do not need to stunlock for the DR and extra life. Gloves: Trangs gloves for the fcr and extra poison damage. Boots: Soul Shanks on USEast, or similar duped stat/resist boots for your realm. Boots #2: Waterwalks vs. melee since you will not need the resists. Rings: Depends on the matchup. I would suggest building your ghost so that he does not need any stats from rings to wear gear. This lets you switch between Ravens, Wisps, Dwarfstars, and Angelics when needed. Against melee, use 1 angelic, 1 raven and angelic amulet. With the 20 dex from the raven, you will still be able to equip your claws despite losing the dex from Storm Hide. 6BO CTA/Lidless or Sigons on switch for BO. Charms: 7 x Shadow skillers with life, 3 x with fhr. Anni, and combination of 32020s, 70/15s (USEast) and 20/5s to your liking. Other things you can keep in stash. Prebuff:Low str Bramble, +3 shadow claws, socketed with poison facets for prebuff. +3 venom or fade is an added bonus. +3 shadow helm with 2 x poison facets. Tgods/Hotspurs. Stats: 0 str 0 energy Dex for claws Rest into Vitality Skills: Max claw mastery Max venom Max mindblast Fade – level 35 with gear/prebuff gear Weapon block – level 26 with gear 1 LS 1 WoF 1 Dflight Rest into Shadow Master. I will add the class specific dueling techniques later.
