GHETTO Gear 101

Caster, as the game seems to push most to casters as beginning builds. This is just one simple setup that can work and can be done by running Act 1 Countess and Norm Meph and can set you up for very safe Baal runs or questing in NM.

(3) Sock Helm
many possibilities here, and even a (2) sock will work fine.

Rubies = life
Saphs = mana
Ort = 30 LR
Thul = 30 CR
Ral = 30 FR
Tir = 2 mana/kill

(3) or (4) sock armor same list as above.

Bloodfist......hard to beat
Norm sets, many of these cam supply some big mods people.

Angelics
Hsarus
Civerbs
Sigs (most know)
Vidalias
Artics armor.....
......etc.......look them up

Normal armor and shields and helms can be socket with a recipe and it is supose to get max sockets depending on where found In Act 1-2 you are most likely to get (2) socks in helms, 2-3 in Armor and 2-3 in shields.

Dont overlook what a few flawed or normal gems can do for you in safety.

3 sock shield and 3 normal diamonds and i beleive you get a 33 priz shield, or maybe even better yet, slap in one normal diamond, one Topaz and one Ruby for 11 Priz and a bigger FR and LR.....could mean all the difference in the world in Act 3 and 4 just doing somehting small liek this.

Lvl 24 Blizz sorc........TIR TIR Helm and/or TIR TIR Armor either 4 or 8 mana per kill, Act 3 Flayers meaning like 10-30 of them killed in 1-2 blizz casts meaning no mana issues!!!! Same with Necro, one or two dead ones from merc or skellies, CE the rest and full mana!!! This can also work with Barbs and other but doesnt work with traps at all.

Runes do more things than just make runewords or crafted items.

Gems have many uses besides upgrading runes, rolling charms, or trading...etc.

Be GODLY because you know how to be GHETTO!

NOOBS!!! j/k:)

I do this all the time :lol:

My level 75 sorc is still wearing 3 of the 4 Angelic pieces because I haven't found anything better (I gotta start MFing).

I almost always put chipped and flawed diamonds in early shields. It can be the difference between life and death when battling an LEB or when trying to survive the death of a CE or FE boss. And the saphires for mana is key for sorcs at lower levels (that and LOTS of mana pots).

Go Go Ghetto!!!

When I actually "play" normal with a caster, I generally end up doing countess runs till I've got 6 Tirs or so, 3 sock weapon and a 3 sock armor. And casters include javazons by the way, my first character this season was a javazon, that died to an FECE in NM A4 with max resists...up until then my gear consisted of:
War Jav of quickness
TirTirRal Armor
TirTirOrt Helm
Rhyme (recently aquired, up until then it was all about BSoD TirTir)
Sigs Boots/belt/gloves
Assorted resist related jewelry

She had no trouble dealing with anything at all, the only times I had to drink blues were when poking bosses with CS.

The last sorc I played through was similar:
TirTirTir axe
TirTir shield
SaphirreSaphirreRuby helm
Stealth armor
Or something to that extent, that was enough to easily solo normal baals until I built a bit of an item base.

In other words, Tir is the rune of champions!

Erm, yeah, I gulp down mana pots like theres no tomorrow and it seems to work for me too. Dunno really ^_^

my nec has 330 life and 325-ish mana so he's fine. Tonight I'll do some solo normal baals to aquire some more itamz for pk-ing... bone wall pwns all.

Yes, early on i always put chipped rubbies in armor (and occasionally helms)

it helps so much! Another thing to do is to buy 3 socket ring mail early on (with enough str) and put 3 chip rubbies in. thats 30 life right there! helps a ton. and if you have the rubbies, buy a 2 socket helm - now ya have an additional 50 life!

Along with 50 life, if ya find a good shield (i usually wait till A2) i put diamonds in it. Usually a 3 socket large shield does well (if you're in A1).
if you're in a2. Bone or Spiked shields are great.

:thumbsup:

More on spiked shields, the unique one is pretty damn sweet. Has good block, open wounds (wich is really nice for melee chars).

Actually, some -PDR and some -MDR will carry you far in norm. Couple of cathans rings, or some magic ammys/rings, will really help alot. Make you all invincible-like.

And, if you have patience and $20k, drognan sells some great shields in act 2, with nice blocking/FBR.

all my characters use bone shield of deflecting. My favorite ghettoish item: bone shield of deflecting, socketed (2), +38% to all resistance.

Good words, Stinger! I have to second those rubies. Chipped rubies are my den-clearers' favorite find!

Sigons is too uber for me. :)

Waaaay OT here: Muckus, love your avatar. That from bloodsport? Favorite part is when the main bad guy stands there flexing his pecs to Van Damme.
