Getting to level 25

Getting to level 25

What's the easiest and more importantly quickest way to get to level 25?

Once I get to 25, I can get to 50 real quick doing norm baal runs, but I've been told that until 25 there is a huge exp penalty and so it's not worth doing baal runs. If this is true, is there a way to get to 25 quicker than going through the quests?

well I am sure this has been answear before I will respond anyway. 23-25 norm cows are the fastest. Do ancitents at 22. Level in an 8 player game in the arcane or just about anywhere else in act2 will get you to 22 fairly fast.

Cows are great for reaching lvl 25 but I find this way better

Well this wont work if you get a friend to rush u all the way to a5.

Given you completed a1-4 in 6-8 players game. You should be around 20-23ish

Do trav run until ur 24 and then do ancients.

I find normal baal runs are not so good. About 1 lvl per baal run for my meteorb sorc, hammerdin, javazon and baba. I usually stop at lvl 45 and then do nm at 46ish. But 50 is okay i guess

what i started doing recently is every quest in act one. by the time your at andy you're about lvl 18-20, then from there do cow runs to 24, then ancienst and you can start baal runs right away. if you can get a nm rush, only do norm baal runs to 38, thats when you stop getting 1 lvl per run.

Find someone to rush you to hell, and hire a lv 70+ mercenary. You'll die if you're hit once, but each monster kill by the mercenary ups you a level. After lv 22 or so do Diablo runs (with the help of a lv 70+ friend)

Ãour merc can't be higher lvl than u are ??

Don't know if that's true for one u hire or they just don't lvl up faster than yourself....

My friends claimed so, haven't tried yet

From Arreat Summit:
"Hirelings will not gain experience once they have reached your level. They will begin to gain experience again once you level up. "

From 1 to say lvl13 do Tristam runs with chars just within the same range. It's ridiculously fast.

After that another 2-3 lvls in the early parts of act2. Works in solo quite well.

Another 3-4 lvls in the Arcane and Canyon (the tombs are not that good, I think). Small party is enough.

I always struggle with the lvl20-22 bit. Probably the slowest one. Don't recall if cows only kick in by 22-23 but they go very well until 25, with the help of a high lvl.

Can do all that in 30 minutes to 1 hour (excluding the rushing, which is small time though). It depends on how much luck with parties and help from higher lvls you get.

Gotta say though that I got bored of making new chars for a month now and don't know what people have been doing lately.

1. Equipment

1.1. Put on good starter stuff.

Usually it's a full Death or full Arctic with Berserk/Angelic/Cathan parts

For example:
Death sword socketed with hel
Death gloves
Death belt
Berserk helm (socketed with a gem for more str/dex)
Berserk armor (socketed with a gem for more str/dex)
Angelic amulet
Angelic ring
unique ring with mana leech or the second angelic ring
unique shield (soketed with a gem for more resist (lightning or all)
unique boots (for example, with mana leech)

Death(gloves/sword/belt) +Cathan (helm/ring) + Angelic (armor/amulet/ring) gives you better stats, but Berserk has lower level req and gives you AR you needed on clvl 10-11 when you can't take on Angelic)

1.2. Fill inventory with charms

str and dex charm to be able take on Death on clvl 6.
cold/fire/lightning damage charms

Later you can switch "exceed" str/dex charm for elem damage charms

2. Gameplay

Start/join open game with name like "Act1 gogo".
Upto 6 clvl do Den and first-second location (you'd better leveling solo, while other people in other locations).
At 6lvl your max damage will be about 180. It's enough for solo'ing 8ppl. Play in Act1 upto lvl 12.
Usually you "automaticaly" get Cain and Andy by this time (other ppl do those quests).
Then go to sewers. Play solo in 8ppl games but try to select game so you "automaticaly" get other quests from party while you're leveling up in sewers.
When party goes to Act 3, folow them to make Travi, and Meph.

And so on - i believe you get the idea.

You sould get 20clvl when after finishing Diablo quest.

Then wisper to your friend with a sorc. He open cows in 8ppl game.
Attention! He is not in a party with you!
On the level he tanks monsters and use static. You kill all monsters.
It takes about 10 min to get from 20 to 24 (one 3+ppl game is enough).
Then ancients, anya and baal-runs.

Fastest way:

Get as many people as you can in the game. One of them must be (obviously) the character you want to level. Another has to be an enchantress. Party with the enchantress and get enchanted. Run around and kill everything in one hit. I would recommend a bow using Attack so you can kill faster. You don't have to stay in one area for too long, because you want to be level 12 when you kill Andy (for best exp). Move on to act 2. Go through act 2 just like act 1 (doing some quests), and aim to be at or past duriel by level 20. By now you can join public cows and level, or continue on with act 3 (still great experience) if there are no good cow games.

IMPORTANT: At level 15, equip Ravenclaw, unique Long Bow. It fires explosive arrows. With enchant, not only does the arrow itself deal massive fire damage, but that damage also gets included in the explosion. You can take out Fallen camps in 5 seconds, even in an 8 player game (with a good enchant, of course). Now that's leveling!

I've made it to level 25 in 45 minutes before, doing this. It works well even with two players in the game (you and sorc).

The absolutely fastest way to get to high levels requires 8 player game with friends, who first rush you to hell. Yes, I know that you cannot do ancients quest before level 20, but if someone who has not done Baal does baal in same party, then you get the quest and can move to next dificulty. Then when you get to act4 hell you go to River of Flame WP and walk/run to Diablo killing everything on the way. In just a bit over one hour I saw this 3rd level char get to level 73. All this is done in 8 player party. :yep:

Maybe I'm not reading you right but you're saying you're doing hell act 4 diablo runs at lvl 1 and killing things? First, how are you killing anything in river hell at lvl1? and second how do you get xp since there's a severe experience penalty from lvl1-25 for killing things way above your lvl?

Well, actually I was one of the 7 other players in the party, not the rushee. We all partied up and of course the low level rushee did not kill a thing, but stayed close. We walked to Chaos Sanctuary because for some obscure reason rushee got much better experience on River of Flame than in CS. When that character hit 25 we started teleporting directly to CS and cleared it completely. At that point it was normal for rushee to get maybe 7 levels a run. The rushee really got little experience at first, but the basic experience from those monsters was so high that even a fraction of it was enough to raise the level of rushee.

Yes, you only gain 5% of the experience of the monster. How much experience do you gain in a hell baal run? About 60 million (not preciously calculated). What's 5% of it? 3 million. How many experience do you need to get to level 24? 1.3 million

Is there any way for the lvl 1 to be in hell baal runs, maybe by getting the ancient quest by having a lvl 20 completing that quest while in party?

For my level one characters I use the complete Khalims flail. It does great damage and has mana and life steal. The flail can be equiped by any level one character because its' requirements are so low;

Strength=0
dexterity =0
50 (Fifty IAS) increased attack speed,
+ 40 to attack rating,
6 dual leech
1-40 lightning damage and more.

The silly thing is Godly for level one character. Just don't go to Durance level one or level two waypoint or it will disappear; mule it to another low level character when you are ready to finish act 3.

I keep a mule called "Faststart" for all my low level gear.

With the 50 IAs and Death glove and belt (prefered for the 16 all resist) or Sigon glove and belt the IAS is just sickening. Add twitch at level 16 and you should have little trouble reaching level 25 on your own.

I wonder what is does when enchanted?

Lvl 20-28 is fastest for cows. Abt 1 lvl per game. But u only need to reach 24 then can move on to ancients.

at level 24, the only place to get decent xp is worldstone. other places will give under 100 xp (not sure about cows.) so, once you hit 24, just run or tele past everything and kill the ancients. then, you can do solo runs in the worldstone or join a party.

once i found this out, act 1-2 took about 2 hours, then 3-5 took about 30 minutes.

if you are in act 5 and need a few k more xp then do some shenk runs. he gives decent xp.

there are smaller breaks as well. for example, at level 4, blood moor gives almost nothing. you have to go to areas with more to kill than just fallen.
