Getting my Anni

I just recently started playing D2 again since before 1.10, and I'm not exactly "rich".

My question is how do I get a legit annihilus? Trading for one is probably the obvious answer, but thats not exactly easy when i don't have 50 billion duped Hr's sitting around on my characters.

Is there any other way except selling a billion SoJ's to finding an Anni? It seems kind of retarded and backwards for blizzard to not only do almost nothing about duped items and cheaters, but they go even further: they actually reward dupers by giving them the annihilus. WTF?

It's all luck unless you have a truckload of SOJ's to sell to vendors.

Just be in a hell game and on the right server and at the right time and if you see the SOJ's sold to vendors messages happening quickly the clone might walk. When you see the Diablo Walks the Earth message, then you know he walked. Bring some help in taking him down. Most people tend to go into the Den of Evil to spawn him, or The Cairn Stones. Though any previoously unspawned super unique monster will do.

I've gotten 3 since I've started, all self-found, all my clone kills.

But like Gorny said, its mostly luck. In order to get your shot you need to be on a server where some dupers are selling sojs until you get the Diablo walks the Earth.

As far as being legitimate, I wouldn't worry about an anni being duplicated unless it was near perfect or perfect. But those are quite costly, and I don't think you plan on being in that economic class any time soon.

If you really are fearful of getting a duplicate, you may want to consider buying an unid, but that will cost about 7 hrs atm I believe (at least on uswestladder) but you may get a really nice one out of it. However, if that is too pricey, you can shoot for a low one which should cost you about 2-4 hrs.

I know it may seem costly, but there are ways of getting what you need. Key running is one, as 3 keysets will easily sell for an hr (on uswestladder). Or you may just find something nice and be able to trade for the hrs or straight across =)

Another option I've seen mentioned is if you are the sole user of your comp - fire up a Hell game each night before you go to bed in hopes he spawns. It's best to set your character in "auto-run" to help keep the game open.

On a side note I've always wondered why players prefer the Den or Carin Stones? I like popping him at Eldritch the Rectifier - WP is right there and not much for extra baddies...
I know it's a preferance thing; just wondering-

Eldritch and Shenk usually die because they're an easy and fast extra run while MFing. I always hit those 2 just because it's so fast and easy.

Nobody goes into the Den, it's easy to find, easy to kill the stuff in there, so is an easy one for the Clone, pretty much the same with the Cairn Stones.

Last ladder I had 1 Anni that I found myself. This ladder I have 4 from the last 2 months. Just luck that I was in the right game at the right time.

Ah - Good points Machtu

I guess I'm one of those players that rarely hits pubbies so I can choose anywhere to pop him. I usu save Eld/Pindy/Shenk till the very last during my MF/Key runs so Eld is normnaly around. Didn't really consider public games- ;)
