Gamma does not work in Full screen mode

Greetings.
The last couple of times I started playing diablo 2 again, the screen was rather dark in game and when in dungeons, I literally had to bump against the walls to see. Nothing I tried with my video card settings made any difference.

Tonight I started the game in windowed mode. And what do you know, with a minor adjustment I could see!

My question is, how can I get the windowed mode brightness to transfer into the full screen games? I would much rather play in full screen.

My video card is
Nvidia GEForce 8600GTS. I have tried several driver versions, but am currently using 266.58. WindowsXP.

Thanks

Never heard that before.

You could try the Vid test in the d2 install folder and change the options to see if it helps.

Try a Glide wrapper, this may have nothing to do with it, but worth a shot.

If you aren't run it in compatibility mode for win XP service pack 2, this is generally the best option for D2.

Hope one of those might help, GL!

What is a glide wrapper?
I am running in compatibility mode. I'm not sure if that's any different than "compatibility mode for win xp service pack 2". I've never heard it called like that.

edit: I tried the vid test and changed the settings but it had no effect.
edit 2: But I did just now change the compatibility to win95 and to run 640x480 and that worked! Now I can see =)

Thanks again

Cool, glad you got it!

The different service packs are just like D2 patches, they are just updates. That may only be an option in later windows versions.

Here is a glide wrapper that was made specifically for D2, if you want to try it out.
