Game running slow/choppy? Try this!

I stumbled across this when I tried that glider thing that people are talking about. The glider didn't work for me, but I found this other option that was already available without downloading anything. My game was running incredibly choppy, it was nearly unplayable. Now it is smooth as can be. My fps (frames per second) went from 5 to 60!

- Go to your Diablo II folder (for me it was in C: drive - program files - diablo II)
- Scroll down to the Video Test icon
- Run the test
- At the end of the test, you have two options. The game recommends you run Direct 3D. Click the other option, Direct Draw 2D.
- Now restart diablo and see if it runs better for you

Hope this works for others as well as it did for me.

*note* To check your fps in game, type /fps

Thanks Flaw! Id just brought a brand new lap top more than able to run diablo, and the game was going slow/choppy like you said. This solved it instantly. Big Thanks

Yes DirectDraw runs faster, but to be complete, using it disables the Perspective option in-game. Not that that really matters that much....

Also try running windowed. D2 is much better that way anyway.

I just tried that and now it wont even run.
