Fury Druid : Eth Up. Rib or Sheal Up. Ribcracker?

    Hi,

I would like to know if the weapon speed of upgraded Ribcracker is alright to reach max speed of fury druid ( max fury, max lycan, max sage )

    - Zoded Eth Upgraded Ribcracker?
    or
    - Shael non-eth Upgraded Ribcracker?

    Thx

    Z

If my calculations are correct the first one is at 9/5 fury and the second one 8/5. Basing my opinion on them I'd rather use the upgraded ethereal zod'ed one.

    they're not.
Eth upped zod is 9/6 and upped shaeled is 8/5.
So probably depends on other gear and if you want to use alot of crushing etc.

Wrong, yourself, bucko. It does change from a 9/5 to an 8/5 fury. At least, according to thedragoon's ias calc, it does. note I tested with a skill level 10 werewolf, I am sure that even a level 40 werewolf wouldn't push either to 4 fpa, so go with upped eth zoded one. Its well worth the extra damage, imo.

I try to use the dragoon speed calc table :

    - werewolf Fury
    - staff
    - base speed : -10 ( arreat elite stalagmite base speed : 10 which is minus 10 in table )
    - Weapons IAS ( WIAS ) : 50 (Ribcracker)
    - non-weapon, non skill IAS ( OIAS ) : 0
    - Non-werewolf Skill IAS : 40 ( hypothetical : 20IAS gloves, etc.. and off weapon doesn't affect fury attack speed... )
    - werewold skill lvel : 10

    and WIAS Breakppint table give:

    9/6/6/6/6 - 41% WIAS
    9/5/5/5/5 - 52% WIAS

Does it mean i hardly reach 9/5 with 50% ias from ribcracker?

    Thx

    Guess what bucko? No.
I used thedragoons ias calc too. However I seemed to manage to do it right.

if I remember correctly, the arreat summit is wrong with stalagmites, its not base speed 10, its base speed 0, same as the exceptional version. using that info, you should get a 9/5 or an 8/5 fury.

    --welt

edit:: aside from that, I have experience with both in game. the upped version is most definitely a 5 fpa fury, shael or not.

The reason i asked is :

    - Is it worth to spend "a lot" for an ETH rib to Up for dmg
    - Or just shael an non-eth Up fpr speed

for Pure Fury build ( mostly PvM and some PVP )

    Thx

Stalagmites have a WSM of 10. Quarterstaves have WSM 0.

as I stated earlier, I am pretty sure I don't believe the summit for everything, just like I don't believe the item sites here for everything. in game testing seems to verify what I have used.

I don't believe the AS at all. One look at the gambling page there says enough.

That does not change the fact that the WSMs I listed are correct, straight from weapons.txt if you want to know.

welt stick to what you know whatever that is, yet again you gave wrong info as fact then 'backed it up' from your vast experience.
Both were wrong, there is a clear difference between zod and shael upped ribcrackers.
So using the correct info as verified by RTB and TheDragoons empirically tested figures i am going with 9/6 and 8/5 as previously stated.

Just compromising here, per second the Eth Zodded Ribby will do more dmg than the faster Shael'ed Ribby. I just can't help but to think of the Hellslayer discussions in 1.09, they're exactly the same.

Is a Ribcracker actually viable on a Fury druid? I'm making one right now and I'm now sure what to shoot for weapon-wise so any input is appreciated.

Sorry I couldn't contribute more to the post but two certain individuals need to cool it down a notch :uhhuh:

Hmm i know its a bit O/T but according to Dragoon's Calculator a werebear would hit 7 fpa maul with shael upped rib and 50oias. Is this an ok speed in PvM and i'm thinkning of making a fireclaws-maul bear with shockwave for stun hehe
    (4*shael +2ar/ias pb/ SS on switch)

Are you kidding:) look at the mods, Ribcracker is a very viable weapon. A perfect one will do around (probably higher) 350 average damage, plus it has insance crushing blow. Not to mention the very nice added defence and faster hit recovery. Lastly it's fast, if you socket it with a Shael it hits 8/5 Fury which is very nice.

7 frames is pretty good. I'd say 8 frames is minimum for good performance, maybe 9 if you've got a good shockwave.
