Fury Damage Question

For a little while now I've felt like I was getting robbed by my fury damage. I maxed it on my wolf and then got enough items to take the skill to 26 so it's supposed to be giving me 526% damage. I could tell that it clearly wasn't but I chalked that up to the large amounts of poisen damage I was getting from charms and such (I figure poisen and maybe all elemental damage aren't counted into the calculations). But my curiousity won out and once after dying I dropped all my charms and used a no effect weapon. With my strength and other modifiers my min damage was 84. According to my math, the fury increase should have put my min damage around 441 which would have made my max something glorious to behold but it isn't. According to what the game actually tells me I'm getting only about half of that, my min is around 220. So I guess my question is WTH? What is going on? Do I need a patch or something or is this skill just a gip in general? I don't mind if I miss my full damage capacity by some but getting robbed out of 50% just isn't good enough. Can somebody shed some light on this thing?

Oh yeah, and why isn't the speed consistent. Sometimes my wolf balls with his fury attack and other times I feel like he could swing faster with a regular strike. Once again, wth?

What you might be experiencing is the "LCS" (Lying character screen), It's particulary obvious while using Grief, as the char.screen simply won't figure out the damage.

In fact, there's a calculator or a recipe for figuring it out!

I won't be even a bit amazed if this happens to other weapons as well.
And regarding speed, is that with the same weapon? Some weapons have faster attack than others, which again is calculated in "frames" I think. Never really got a 100% hold of the wicked D2 math. :)

The character screen shouldn't be lying. Fury just doesn't multiply your displayed damage by 526%. I don't have the exact formula for calculating damage in my head, but that's not how it works anyway.

And what you say about attack speed doesn't make sense.

EDIT: Here you go:

Min Damage: [Weapon Min Damage + (+min damage)] * (1 + Stat Damage Multiplier + ED%/100)
Max Damage: [Weapon Max Damage + (+max damage)] * (1 + Stat Damage Multiplier + ED%/100)

For example:

If your weapon does 2-6 damage and you have 80 strength and no items with +min/max damage or enchanced damage your physical damage will with lvl 26 fury be:

[2 + (0)] * (1 + 0,8 + 5,26) = 14,12 = ~14
to
[6 + (0)] * (1 + 0,8 + 5,26) = 42,36 = ~42

14-42 damage

NOTE: This is for weapons that are not bows/crossbows/maces/hammers/daggers/throwing/amazon-class spears since they have different stat damage multiplying formulas.

Also, as said before, if you're using Grief the Character Screen doesn't take into account the 340-400 extra damage on the weapon. Actually, nothing seems to >.>.

biko, thanks, I'll try out that formula.

as for the speed thing, I don't know how else to say it. using the same weapon and all the same gear, sometimes when i use fury it takes him barely more than a second to strike five times and others times I use it it takes nearly two or three.

haha, maybe it is my pc. after all, it does use vista (i cannot express my feelings for that operating system without getting banned). but seriously, it isn't that because nothing else slows down. could it be that there is a problem with my patch? i've got 11
