Full TO bug?

I am currently using the full set and each time I travel from act to act with the wp, I lose the vampire appearance (and bonus) until I re-equip one TO piece (or hit weapon switch).

What's up doc?

PS I tried to search the forum but had no result

I've seen the same thing before, I think it is simply a display bug, that won't affect gameplay... however...

Trang has potential blocking bug while in vamp form. No vamp blocking animation was created so theoretically you can't block. and the casting animation is slower so fcr doesn't seem to help.

Don't forget that run and walk in vamp form is the exact same speed.

Actually, it's not a display bug.

When you come out of the waypoint in human form, you DO NOT get the various speed bonuses/penalties that you get in vampire form. Thus, you are really human, not just displayed as human.

I usually WP to the town and wait until I'm back in vampire form, since I'm used to the walking speed. Only exception is when I start a game and decide to do pindle first --- I wp to act 5 and run for the portal right away, for a chance to get the faster casting speed when raising my skeletons.

It can be a hassle if you are concerned about dropping minions during the switch. You may have to take a few more moments to resummon.

My only guess as to the origin of the bug comes from the game "lagging" in taking the fact that you have the full set on. I'm guessing that other sets don't have the same problem is that they do not change your character as dramatically, in fact, the other class specific sets only change the appearance, where TO set changes much more.

Where weapon switching or taking off a piece and putting it back on speeds up the game in realizing you have the full set, without doing that the game will eventually figure out it's mistake. I usually use the time without the vamp transformation to summon minions from pindle's garden more quickly, as the cast rate is quicker.

Indeed... I've never seen Blizzard-code, but judging from various other bugs in the game (some of which point big red arrows at the letters "architectural flaw") it would be no surprise if "fishy" things go on in the two areas affected here as well (changing acts on one side, TO appearance/speed changes on the other side). It does smell like a bad shortcut decision.

It's not just the act-changing --- I've had cases of loosing a lot of skellies when using the trade window, which looked as if the game "updates" you by removing all the items you have equipped, applying that to your effective skills, and then putting them back on. This may or may not be TO specific as well --- I tend to think it's not; it's just very noticeable with a summoner necro in general, and I only have TO necros at the moment.
I keep 2*9 skellies instead of 8 --- so I guess my 2 charms (skiller and anni) are not removed, just the items I'm wearing.

Thx for the replies, I do think it is a delay between the server and my computer, because after a few second doing nothing i revert back to vampire form and oodly when I hit the weapon switch twice, I don't loose any minions  . Very strange.

For the tradewindow, I think it consider you naked, because it does the same think with +life, +mana items...

This happens to me too... but when I was in a game, I was in A5, and came to A1, some guy was like "WHOA... WHAT IS THAT?"... and on my screen, I did not look like a vampire, but to him I did. I notice like you said, in a couple seconds, i'm a vampire again... no biggie, it's such a minor issue, i've never really given much though. Now... if I could just figure out why some of my characters can cast town portal unless I click the book.... hmm... that one still has me stumped.
