Frozen Armour Sorc Any Ideas?

I have started a new sorc tonight and have decided to go for a frozen armour sorc ...max frozen/shiver/chilling armour. Should i max energy shield and telekinisis? the idea being that anything that hits me dies!

I will keep you informed on how this turns out. Any ideas on equipment?
I was thinking damage reduction! Shaft/storm etc.

Oh another one coming up with the idea. Well you should also max Cold Mastery, so that the damage you do will at least be double. Without Cold Mastery this build would look rather senseless. We have had a discussion about this kind of build and Alkanine was the one who actually brought it up once.
I think he did fine til end of NM or so.
Actually you should be using Shiver Armor in the end, since it gives the highest damage. With some +12skills and Cold Mastery you would be able to do about ~1200 damage.

hmm

with my counter you should be doing an avg dmg of 600 while gettin hitted but i dont understand the thing of makeing a sorceress who only can teleport around doing no dmg other than when the monsters hit you...

I said that one should max Cold Mastery aswell. This will let you ALWAYS do double damage, no matter how high monster cold resistances are,if you add like +12 skills.

Besides that, Shiver Armor chills and does damage when a monster decides to attack and not when they hit.

So the 600 are then 1200 cold damage...

Haven't built one like that myself. Lets see what news Rendalli comes back with. It surely is more a fun built that can last til then end of Nightmare.

Between the damage can even be higher if you add gear with +xx% cold damage, since that gets calculated seperatly from the damage added by the synergies. Would use the typical pure Blizzard Sorc gear, with Death's Fathom, Nightwings, facets. etc.....

This means you can actually reach alot more damage than displayed....

This is just a fun build that I am making out of sheer boredom, as i have made every other type of sorc there is!

Lvl 14 and act 1 is quite fun just running about with with my merc as back up!

Claimed my first lvl 18 assasins ear too :S as they came into the game and immedietly turned hostile...:)

The problem here is that the shields increase your defense, so you will be hit less.. but you need to be hit to deal damage, so it's kind of self-defeating..

Shiver armor damages anything that attacks you, whether it hits or not.

Exactly. I did a test in Single Player with the Hero editor and found out the following. I 1p games i was in Act5 NM oncve with Full Tal's and all sockets full with Cold Facets for extra damage, making that about +35% cold damage. No skillers, no Anni.

Other setup: Nightwings, Deaths Fathom, CoH, Stormshield, Maras, Arachnid Mesh, Storm Shield

Same on both 2xSoj, Natalyas Boots.

If i would add Skillers to the Tal's set i could do better, but the unique setup just shines in terms of damage. since Fathom and NIghtwings are already about +40% codl damage and with 3 Facets that are not perfect but add another 9% damage making that +49% extra damage taht is not displayed.

Skills at lvl90 and damage with Unique setup:
20 Frozen Armor
20 Shiver Armor lvl32 - 808-924 damage +50% -> 1212-1386 x2 (from CM) -> 2424-2772 total damage.
20 Chilling Armor 487-582
20 Cold Mastery (this is needed otherwise your damage is pity even with the extra 50% cold damage. since then you will do double damage ALL the time)

13 Telekinesis
1 Energy Shield

Shiver Armor chills and damages as soon as monster decides to attack.
This Sorc stood in a little Army of ranged attacking skellies. I didnt even see the Shards flying from me, but the skellies died in no time.
The only thing with Chilling Armor is. The area needs to be free of other monsters, so that it can reach the target that fired at you, otherwise it will just hit something else in its path.

1 NM, Act5, 1player all hits from Shiver Armor where 1hit kills, Chilling Armo 1-2.
Will go and try 3-4p players now.
The thing is though i dont think this build can do anythign in 8p games, except die ;), though with PDR and ES you shoudl be able to tank a bit. Nevertheless this build is certainly fun. You stand about and do nothing, while monsters break to little icy bits.

Ahhh yeah, I forgot about that, duhhh :)

Would a Saracen's Chance help this build? Or would the PDR/ES also reduce damage returned..?
