Friends: The Good, the Bad, and the Dingbats

I've made a lot of friends on Bnet, and they come in all flavors.

A couple have been wonderful. There's one person who I met just as I was getting started ~3 months ago named Woden who tossed me a shako, a raven, and other fun stuff to help me get started, and man did he ever. And I've shared the experience - I've met friends just as they were getting started on Bnet, and a month later, we're overpaying each other for godly items on each other's wanted lists.

Then you have the goddamn tards. The ones who seem okay at first but then stalk you around to all your games, asking stupid questions and frequently begging for itemz. I've had them follow me to like 10 2-minute dkey runs in a row, joining each subsequent one (because my friends tend to know my game passes) and making it easier for Nilathak to blow me up.

But man, today took the cake. Pictures are worth thousands of words, ne?

This is relevant to my interests!

    And then this.

Yeah. Good, Toad, you look kinda cool. Keep that 11/13 anni. And shove it up your...

By the way, he killed D clone using the smiter that I told him how to build and most of my stuff, including grief and CoH. I mean, no HUGE loss, but what the hell.

    Yeah, I'm ranting.

That sucks...kinda makes you wonder why good deeds go unrewarded. An 11/13 is still better than none, and I like all of my chars to have them. Passing it around sucks.

edit: even if you remove them they can still see your game names...I think it should only be if you are mutual, but Blizz doesn't seem to agree.

Actually they can't. It'll say blah blah blah is in a private game. They don't get the game name.

They can follow you through non-private channels though (I.e., trading, chat, ect)

Same thing happened to me, but on the first night of 1.11. I don't even know what the torch came out to be... And I payed for the keys myself...

And then the day after I lost my torch, another of my friends traded his keys away for a 2os 13+DR/HIgh res CoA and a Perfect AP Fort, 15/15.

I made a good friend on Bnet before but I STILL didn't trust him very much. Although he did save my items when I got dropped while xfering, I'm still cautious.

I hate the ones who add you to their f list and don't know how to whisper. I don't want to hear all of their juvenile conversations - use /m %Fx please, it's not that hard. Also, would it be that hard to play the game for yourself instead of begging for rushes? I had one in particular that would log on, scan his f list, and shout to everybody - "omg gib NM rush plz plz plz!!!11!11. This would continue on for an hour or so, interspersed with individual requests of "omfg hotlude plz rush me" until somebody would, and then it was "OMG somwun plz plz plz rush HELL omg I keep dying omg. Why can't my lvl 46 kill HELL?". I finally asked him one day if he ever played the game, and he responded that he was. I explained to him that all he was doing was begging and that maybe he should try ebay as it was much easier. He went on some 10 minute rant about how he had real friends and didn't need me blah, blah, blah. So I thought that would be enough to get me off of his f list, but NO! 10 minutes later he's begging for rushes again. i just can't believe some people. Is there a way to squelch someone that isn't in your game?

Or you could just rush him and set bad TPs and pretend to be a total dingus. He'll get the message sooner or later, and you could have some fun at his expense.
