Frenzy beakpoints.

Frenzy beakpoints.

I've read through the 2 Frenzyguides here, looking for some insight on Frenzy breakpoints. I often read do this do that with Azurewrath to reach fastest attack for example, but no info on where the breakpoint is when you are frenzied.

I'm using 2 Oaths in Balrog blades for 50% ias, and got Highlords for another 20%. I did learn from the guide that offhand ias dont matter so that was good to know. But can anybody help me out here?

Re: Frenzy beakpoints.

The problem is that so many things affect Frenzy break points its difficult to give a table/chart, unlike the easily understood faster cast rate chart etc..

Things that affect Frenzy attack speed:

1. Frenzy skill level
2. Base weapon type in main hand
3. Base weapon type in off hand
4. Weapon IAS on main hand only
5. Non Weapon IAS
6. Fanaticism Aura including its skill level

As you can see, this differs greatly to that of a WW'ers IAS requirments, and so a weapon speed calculator is the only way to determine if your hitting the final and maximum break point of 5 frames per attack for Frenzy.

Re: Frenzy beakpoints.

Another interesting point is, if you "Stack" your IAS further than the 5fpa, like most pvp's do with elemental resists, you will swing at 5fpa straight away, (like the double swing skill allows) rather than needing to hit a few times to "charge up" you're frenzy speed.
Secondly when you are cursed with Decrepify or the holy Freeze Aura, (or both) the additional IAS allows you to swing at or near 5fpa (depending on how much IAS exactly you have stacked).
To do this, phase blades are the only way to go, and something with good IAS boost (40%) from a weapon like Grief gives outstanding results.
Pair it with another PB like Lawbringer, Azurwrath or even another Grief PB add in Hilords, a XX%ED/15%IAS Jewel in your Arreats, a pair of LoH gloves, and mass killing power is your's.

Ask if you need more answers...

Re: Frenzy beakpoints.

I can justify Spankeh's comments, considering i have just made a frenzy barb with a grief pb on the main hand (with 39% ias) and a last wish pb on the off hand. the initial swing is at, or damn near, 5fpa speed, and even when decrepified it only takes ~5 hits to max speed. However, I've not had anything other than a phase blade in the offhand so I can't tell you how something like a balrog blade would behave. I have an ebotdcb I can test and comment tomorrow on if I remember.
