Frenzy Barb question

I'm making a frenzy barb making use of 1.10 synergies, but I'm not quite sure what path I'd like to take with some of the extra skill points.

So, as it stands, I'm looking at the following skill allocation:

20 Double Swing
20 Frenzy
20 Taunt
1-5 Berserk
?? Battle Orders
?? Masteries
5-7 Prerequisites

If I have moderate success with this guy and make it into the 70s, should I try to max Berserk last for the extra 20% Magic damage? Or should I just get the one point wonder for PIs and stick the other points into something like Battle Orders. I hadn't even planned on touching Masteries, but I guess one point in each (sword, mace, axe) might be worth it.

Haven't really thought about gear. I'd rather not go for the typical IK partial set, even though I know it would be good. I'll have to scour my mules for gear if I stick this one out.

you'll probably need to max a mastery. frenzy don't gives much AR. my frenzy barb with max mastery and max frenzy only have around 3k AR. 1 pt in berzerk should be enough. since you don't have a shield, you're gonna need BO. hope that'll help. also, if you need extra skill pts, u don't need to max frenzy. just around 10 is good enough for the speed. max frenzy barb are really hard to ctrl.

my frenzy barb looked like this:
1 pt: mace, sword, axe mastery, berzerk, howl
20 double swing
10 frenzy
20 taunt
20 BO
20 shout
the rest in iron skin

i also got a blessed aim merc to help out with the AR problems. he got patriarch untwinked. it was a fun build, but the ancients were a huge problem. i didn't max frenzy or a mastery because the BA merc helped out with AR and synergizing frenzy adds more to damage than actually putting points in frenzy. its a very strategy intensive sort of build, so you should make extensive use of howl and taunt: bring a few monsters towards you, then scare the rest away. getting mobbed = death with this build.

Thanks for the tips. Looks like you each took a different approach with the skill distribution. I'll have to think about that. I really hadn't even considered not needing to max Frenzy....

Thanks!

And I already love Taunt. That skill is great.

If you don't max frenzy, you may have AR problem in late hell though. I like to keep all my physical damage char's ar above 10k, and my frenzy barb have a bit over 11500 (not using angelic combo).

I'll tell you my build just to add further confusion

I started out with 1 point in each mastery and then pumped it to 20 when I knew what weaps I'd be using, max frenzy is a must if you ask me, especially if you don't max mastery, you need the AR and the damage don't hurt either

my guy is lvl86
20 frenzy
20 sword mastery
20 battle orders
9 double swing
8 warcry
4 taunt

I found warcry worked wonders against groups of enemies, even ranged attackers could be lured in with taunt and then stunned when they entered warcry range, I skimped on the synergies a little so my damage isn't great but the survivability is very high, without angelic or any major AR boosting items besides ravenfrost he has ~9k AR
