Fortitude on a BvC!

I'm personally torn torn between stating my barb to use Fort or to go pure vit. I have friends, who play BvC quite well, that decided to go pure vitality, but at the same time, all the videos I see and other great BvC players I hear about have stated for Fort.

I'd like to hear your opinions, but I really want facts and evidence to back it up!

y wud u use fort???? maybe on switch 4 melee chars. but u need enigma or u cant tele vs casters.. the whole point to the bvc

Fort is a switch for hammerdins and some melee characters.

For a hdin, you switch fort + widow on switch.
For melee you would switch fort for more damage, but you can only keep coa on if you add 35(in my case) base str points.

Hence my question.

Personally i wouldn't go with fort. Its only gonna help vs mellee, but if built right you should be winning these anyway, unless its vs a bvb.

Sure it would help vs a hdin, but i dont think its worth the sacrafice in life, when a good hdin shud still ease u.

i pretty much only play bvc and i have a lvl 94 vit one and 92 invested one.
with all the smiters and hdins in pubs lately I only play the invested. fort makes a huge difference against pallys and sometimes wear it against druids.
I think the people saying all vita havent played an invested one to see the difference.
my 94 vita bvc makes a good mule if that tells you anything.

Do you use it in combination with Widow?

How exactly do you utilize your fort, and how much str did you invest?

I played fort/widow/coa 68str/24dex barb longer than anyone else in europe and trust me when I say pure vita is better. Enigma>fort in all duels and you can use widow if you must (zzzzzzz) even with base dex.

I use my Eni in most pubs, but if the game is full of smiters, shapeer druid and other barbs I will use my forti, and if the room is just full of barbs then I use my eth bugged forti, 35k def rocks

So, why would you say Eni > fort when vs smiters? There is no need to tele, and I think the better damage > the fr/w

You definately want teleport vs smiters. Especially if they use widow/foh but tele is really handy vs any good telesmiter. Not only to escape but also to play semi-offensive/unpredictable/hit-n-run. Fortbarbs just move too slowly unless packed with 5 frw scs but I still wouldn't pass up on the teleport. Sure, fort makes it easier vs some badly played or dumb smiters but you can beat them with enigma as well. Opposite is not true though.

to make full use of fortitde you need like full inv of frw scs. the extra dmg really helps vs high def smiters, while at the same time you are likoe 95% of the time out of their range.
Vs hammerdin as said above , enigma is better option , sometimes you need to tele out of hammers if you get trapped , and one can still use widowmaker on switch, also more life and more frw is a good thing to have

why not? you only needs like 3str point to use fort anyway.
I use fort with arreat, 70+15+30(belt) = 115 + 3 =118 +20 (Arreat) = 138 for axes.
You would want the ar from arreat anyway when vs smiter/paladins.

or substitue in any visionary helm with +Str.
