Fort Armor or Faith (G)MB?

Fort Armor or Faith (G)MB?

Hey guys i got a quick question for you pros of the zon forum and would greatly appreciate any advices.

Recently i've been building a pure hybrid CS/LF/Strafe zon, currently at lvl 61 and growing. My rune budget allows me to either be able to make a nice fort in a 4os Great Hauberk with almost 500D (best i've found) or make a faith in a GMB.

Primarily i built this char to run cow for the socketables/gems/charms/runes etc. but also for solo viability in hell for mass clearing of Chaos or Pits or WSK etc. I have access to decent gear: Andy's, Catseye/Atma's, war travs, nice rare gloves with Skill/ias/leech etc. so it really boils down to either making the armor or the weapon. Which would u guys do?

BTW my skill layout is:
20 Charged Strike
20 Lightning Fury
20 Strafe
Everything else pre-reqs and in the passive tree.

Thank you for your time.

faith first. i use coh instead of fort on my lf/strafer. you dont lose much ed% vs monsters b/c of all the demon/undead ed%, but you gain 2skills/20str/life leech/huge res. reguardless of your armor choice i'd make faith first. another personal choice is to use a mat bow instead, it leaves more room for other gear to not have ias on it.

Get yourself the faith, it should prove more of an improvement then getting a forti I'd bet.

I agree on the above posters. Go for Faith MB for Hybrid, since you will not focus your items on IAS.

Also for armor, go with CoH. The +skills boosts your LF/CS damage and the 200ed to monsters boosts your Strafe damage(allthough you dont see it on the screen)

i don't know. i tend to think that both charged strike (the jabby thing right?) and LF BOTH can't enjoy the benefit of the faith. if he/she does go faith, it would make it very one dimensional (in terms of benefit... i guess cs and lf are both effective with or without fortitude)

my experience with fort is that, its a instant 40% increase in damage (physical damage)

i say fort it!

Razen: Remember that the Fortitude will only benefit the Strafe-attacks, it will do nothing for the LF/CS.

the thing about this particular hybrid is that the lightning skills dont gain as much from great gear that bowside does. when i was contemplating my zon i thought that for gear i'd go for a good balance of the two, for skills id spend most of them in the jav tab, and for stats i'd dump everything into dex. this gives you a decent balance in all the variables you have control over. you get dex for bowside since no stat helps increase jav damage (significantly). you dump skills into jav tree since bow doesnt gain much if anything by spending them there. and finally if you gear for a balance of as many +skills as you can while also not hampering your ias you achieve the zen like state of total balance and harmony with build and gear. to me Chains is the armor of choice.

ps. i'm really looking forward to your rewrite of your guide, Kijya.

Going to take quite a while sadly, lost a bit work recently due to my carelessness, but should have it redone this weekend hopefully. After that I only have about half of it left :cloud9:

At a rough estimation I should probably need around 20-30 more working hours on it.
