    Formula 1 anyone?

I'm watching Monaco Qualification 1 right now, just wondering if anyone else follows the sport. I know that there's not much of a fan base in the States.

I watch Formula anytime i get up early enough on sunday, there's not much on and i think it's 10x better than nascar, which they just drive around in a circle for hours.

Hopefully Michael Schumacher has a good qualifier!

I used to watch every race. But when Mika Hakkinen retired it became all Michael Shumacher and it turned boring.
What's the point of watching when you know who's going to win it?
And now with bar suspended it looks like another year of victories for shumi.

Yeah, I don't understand why people would prefer Nascar either...
I'm a big supporter of Raikkonen, and so far great this time. But the diamonds in his helmet...man...
Ferrari got their own huge problems, never been a fan of them, and they are not gonna have a chance in hell if they keep this kind of performance up again.
    And that crash was just...dumb...

I watch F1 sometimes, although I must admit I don't really see it as a real sport. It really doesn't have much to do with driving skills, you just need a very good car. Okay not entirely true, but even Michael Schuhmacher wouldn't be able to win anything in one of the crappy cars, which totally sucks.

The car has alot to do with this sport, yes i said sport if people consider Nascar and golf sports than F1 is surely a sport. The car is important, but it's not everything, my favourite races are where weather plays a factor, ie rain, that's when you see the skill and experience of the driver's really come out.

    F1 not a sport...hope you don't think golf is a sport

Why would they pay him so much money if anyone could do what he does?

Beats me too:) I have no doubt that Michael Schumacher is a world class driver! Probably the best there is...but look how many points he has scored so far in this season...compared to last season. It's not like his driving abilities have degenerated or something, he's driven some very nice races, it's just that his car isn't superior to everyone else's anymore.

Well it's hard tp win races when your car can't finish the race, because it brakes down, Michael isn't winning races because Ferrari can't seem to get the car working right. good car + good river win races. You can't win a race any other way.

If I remeber correctly, each one the teams spends massive amounts of money on their cars and drivers. Anyone know if any team other than ferrari makes a profit from it?

I havn't watched F1 at all this year. Was there a qualifying crash, a crash in one of the races, or do you mean when Schumacher brake checked Montoya last year?

They started the season with last years cars and when they realized they were not up to snuff they tried to use the 2005 car weeks before it was ready and other then the last race it has backfired for them.

Crash during Qualification 1 at Monaco, twas R. Schumacher, kinda didn't turn enough and smashed the car right into the barrier, not that difficult of a turn either.
And Ferrari got some problems on their car, and they have a pretty serious tire problem. The Bridgestone they used blew out twice in Spain.

My NASCAR pit crew of rednecks can beat up your F1 bunch of pansies

Look at the F1 cars. They hit anything and it's all over. NASCAR racers hit everything in site and all they do is cut off the offending piece and keep racing.

And I would rather see the twists and turns of the F1 race then the round and round in a circle of a NASCAR race.
