FoH questions...game mechanics...

Hey guys! I am not too great at the mechanics of the game, and I've been thrown a couple of questions I have no idea about. They relate to a PvM Templar, hence I'm posting here...

1. I hear that the -% on facets take effect AFTER LIs are broken, so they'll work at 100% effect rather than 20% effect

2. From the Arreat Summit, it says that FoH ignores resistances of undead/demons, so would it hurt a lightning immune zombie? Also, if the zombie has -100% lightning resistance, would the FoH "ignore" the resistance and just deal the listed damage?

Any help would be immensely appreciated!

1. *Shrug* I still have a lot of questions regarding facets my self...

2. I personally, from previous posts on this forum, heard that this wasn't true... but I guess we should wait for another opinion...

...why did I even bother posting?

1) This is correct as far as I know.
2) No, this isn't correct. After helping a close friend level a mage paladin in hell baals with those blasted lightning immune gloams, you learn quickly you need conviction to do any FoH damage to Gloams.

the "ignores resistance" thing is regarding the holy bolt part of the foh. don't ask me why it says demons. it could be that they planned for the lightning bolt to ignore resistances of undead and demons, but forgot to program that or took it out before the final version of 1.10... anyway, if you ask me, that would be a big step in the right direction to making foh more workable. it would allow people to use foh in pvm without having to get conviction. i think i speak for all clerics when i say that would be nice. then you could actually go the holy bolt/foh/holy shock route instead of bolt/hammer/foh or foh/shock/conviction. said route seems like a more reasonable setup to me, but as it is you can't go foh/shock without going conviction also. unfortunately conviction doesn't fit the cleric profile imo.

ok i'm done ranting.

Ok um....The first question i don't really understand so i can't help u there lol however with the second question ignorin the undead resists does refer to the holy bolt thing HOWEVER if a foher has convict on he can get rid of the light immunity on most monster(black souls, ghosts, etc) and foh will deal about 1/4 to 1/2 the monster life in one shot at 3k damage per shot,I knowthis from personal exp with my lvl 83 foh

strange thing about facets and - % resistance mods.
i got a feeling that it totally reduce your resistance regardless if you have
overload on the resistance(using more than you need to reach your max res)
i have meet severals good VT / templar
then i meet this ebayer with perfect griffins + perfect lightning die facet
with another Perfect light facet in HOZ.
+6 Perfect light facet in a 6 socket crystal sword.(have to be an ebayer)
conviction -150 , griffin w/ LF -25 , -5 HOZ , -30 6 LF in crystal sword.
total of -210

this is my resistance related items when dueling him.
205 resist lightning 45 resist cold , fire poison zakarum sheild
75 resist all wizzy
19 resist all anihilus
105 resist lightning , from 10 X 10 to 11 resist lighting SC
15 resist all from UM ed guardian angel or 65 resist all from COH
T gods + LO ed shako

ok first set up with GA i got 95% Max resist lighting +20 light absorb
with an overload of 419% resist lighting.
I still took about 800 - 900 dmg!!

ok second set up with COH i have 90% Max resist lighting +20 light absorb
with an overload of 469 resist lightning.
i still took about an average of 800 - 900 dmg.

I was really puzzle.. cuz i have always negated or didnt take much dmg
from other templars
i mean like how is this possible? i have a sh1tload of resist lightning.
can some test this... or this guy just cut through my lightning resistance?

sure he wasnt using a 4 socket armour as well? also... check your math on yoru light resist... cause it works the way its supposed to. if you have enough to negate it - it works.
