FO Sorc Merc questions

Hi all, well after reading several guides and talking to a lot of level 90s etc... I am still unsure as to a few things.... I know some of this was explained but just wanted some people to chime in from experience lately if possible...

1. Which merc would you use and why for a frozen orb sorc which ONLY runs HELL meph and Andy?

2. What merc gear (both cheap side and both expensive side)...
Notes on this...

HELM: I have heard people swear by Vampire gaze, and others by Andys visage. One gives good posion resists and the other has the 20%DR. Thoughts?

ARMOR: Guardian Angel (combined with Kira), Fortitude for more Damage, Shaftstop, Leviathons... Thoughts?

Weapon: I currently use an ethereal Bonehew with 2 40ED jewels. I know there are others, just want to know.

Pretty much anything works. Bonehew is a good weapon, For Andy, you might be better off using Andy's Visage instead of gaze, since it has huge poison res on it. Armor is whatever really, something with highish res is good.

all the items you named would work absolutely fine for a sorc. esp. for bosses.

The best weapon I ever used for my mf meph runner (This was a long time ago)was an ethereal reapers toll. Let your merc tank meph and the 33% chance on striking to cast decrepify works very well I found

Now that i think about it, i think it was on my fw sorc too

The Reapers Toll was a bit pricy i think tho

Insight, Kelpie's or Woestave for weapon. Shaftstop for armor and Rockstopper socketed with a Tal for helm. You're merc doesn't need to kill and he can't leech from Meph and only barely from Andariel, so no need for big hurty weapons.

I don't like FO sorcs for Andy though.

I have an eth Rockstopper on mine but I'll change it to Vamp Gaze for the life leech.

Kelpie for bosses, life leech or infinity weapon for other stuff. Kelpie doesn't really help him when he's surrounded.

Thx, have heard a lot about kelpie snare, but damage so low, but maybe it does not matter Also, I forgot to ask, which merc should i get?
1. Holy Freeze
2. Defiance
3. Barb - act 5 possibly?

Give him Reaper's Toll. And eth would go for about Pul, Regular one will by Ko or little more. There's nothing like Decripify 4 bosses and crowd control (my merc forgot the feeling of the death after I gave him this weapon). And use might aura, your orb will do the chilling effect holy freeze would provide.

I do countess and Frigid in no time (just remembering, there are cold immunes there and I am a pure orber).

Hrmm, got a hold of reapers toll, merc seems to still die just as fast doing Andy as with bonehew. I was just given an ethereal Duriel shell Upped - at around 1850 defense... Does that coupled with vamp gaze sound good for merc? Or any other suggestions... Thx again...

My merc has just about zero issues w/ an eth. Reapers, eth Fort and an Andy's w/ Ral. Not huge damage but survives - has LL, Damage and very good resist.
