Thanks again guys.
Dropping Baal in about 45 secs now compared to 3-4 mins.

Still acquiring parts and pieces but this was a big help.

Re: Fishymancer - Version 2.1

Hey all. I've recently started playing a fishymancer, my first character ever on bnet. I'm currently lvl 72 with pathetic gear and 250 unspent stat points, doing baal runs in NM. My 1st question would be... should I try to get max block (Maybe there's no need for it, since I can't afford a good shield)? And 2nd - when should I start doing those so called "MF" runs? :).

Btw, this is an awesome guide :p Helped me so much to choose the first char to play.

I would definitely go for max block. Put what you need for items in Strength, then choose what shield you want to use(stormshield, homunculus etc.) I know it seems very far away to afford but this build can do pit runs(a high level area in Act 1) in hell with no gear equipped. Then find out how much dex you need(with bonus from items) to achieve max block. The rest put into Vitality and maybe Energy but at your level you might not need it. Play it by ear but don't but more than 20 pts in. This is what the guide recommends as well. Save up perfect gems to trade for decent gear. 40= a high rune 10-20 can get you a homunculus. I hope this helps.

Are you keeping the bosses decreped with a clay golem attacking them at all times?

You don't need to put extra points into decrep, you just need to keep recasting it.

Against bosses, you want decrep and the clay golem constantly active, even if that means anticipating when decrep is about to run out or the golem is about to die, and recasting before that happens.

Don't place more than one point into any curse.

He means you must always keeps bosses decripified (with the curse) and have a clay golem summoned to slow them further :>

i put mine in summon resist. then after that golem mastery. they are pretty hard to kill after you do that. and those 250 extra points, id suggest vita. all of it. but i understand saving it for gear. you could probably put 200 of it in vita and keep the extra 50 if you need it for str.

GOLD FINDING...

SO I have made yet another awesome fishymancer. His gear so far is really good as I got lucky early in this ladder. He wears
Vipermagi 21 res
Lore circlet
Chancies
3 summon ammy
dual wisp rings
Arm Leoric with Lem
Goldwrap with 79% gold
Homunc with Pdia
Rare boots with 76% gold find and other good stuff like res and FRW
Various charms mostly for gold find and a low ntorch

So he is up to about 750% Gold find. I am hoping to get a nice skullder and outfit it with another lem. I am gambling some coronets hoping to get a nice +2 necro in which I can add another Lem. So I am kind of on a gold finding binge. Anything else I could do to boost my gold find? I was thinking I could do wealth, but not sure I want to give up the res, skill, etc from other armor choices?

Any thoughts on that?

I hear people mentioning gold finder barbs, but doesn't the gold finder fishymancer seem superior? Even though the summoning necro is very slow compared to say a hybrid FO/CL sorc, he kills so many more bad guys and gets that many more drops. I am regularly seeing gold drops 10k+ and many in the high teens, a few over 30k!

Is there a gold find helm?

Crown of Thieves unique Grand Crown gives 80-100% extra gold.

Have you considered using Blade of Ali Baba (2-247% extra gold based on character level) and a Rhyme shield (50% extra gold) on switch and keeping Arm of Leoric and Homunc as prebuff gear?

Prebuff doesn't really work for skellies. They puff.

That, of course, if the skill level on switch gets to lower amount of skeletons - which in your example it certainly will.

They do, however, retain stats (those that left)... so it might be worth it, depending on the amount - 15 or 12 won't matter much. 11 to 8 probably will.
