Fishymancer support paladin

I want to try a new (?) fun build which will also give me the opertunity to take a back seat for a change in games as well :wink3:

Soooooooo, we were talking about a support paladin for a freinds summoner necro.

What we have so far is an act 2 norm Defiance merc maybe with insight pole and Bramble armor.
Main pala aura - fanaticism or concentration?...
....with Vigor and Cleansing on switch?

This leaves the necros merc open - could do act1 merc with Faith bow? (expensive.....) or act 2 NM Might..............

Regardless, pala's role won't be that of a killing machine but more to enable the necro to have fun and for me to pick the drops up.

To be used in PvM in open multiplayer games and 'private' MF games.

Equipment cost should be taken into account - lets say most mid level/end game items are available but HR's and uber stuff would be more problematic.

What would help your summon necro's the most?

Your input and ideas would be most welcome

Cheers,
Simon.

Well, conc leads to the build of hammerdin......, which both supports the necro and kills very fast. (and faster kills = faster CE's)

I like the hammerdin option best. That, or a funny paladin ranger using fanaticism or something of that sort.

I would go for fanatacism - couple this with a might merc and you have a truly unstoppable army.

As fana has no synergies, you have a lot of spare points and could either experiment with other builds or do as I did and make a fanatesla:

20 fana
20 RL
20 HS
10 zeal
10 HS

Thanks for the input guys.

I had a good Hammerdin on the last ladder but got very bored with it so I want to avoid a 'cookie cutter' hammer build if possible.

Fanaticism seems to be leading for the main aura, which makes sense.

Zealot also works for me as does 1 point Smite (which I've never tried).

What about the auras on switch and the second mercs aura?

Keep 'em coming!

Simon.

I would just make a pure fana zealot if going zealot route. It serves as a good 1 point smiter.
Yep. Zmiter using fanty+summoner = Invincible 2 man wrecking crew

Might Merc with Obedience with Summoner (obedience is cheap)

Insight Merc with Zmiter (insight is also cheap)

There are no weak points at all, other than that blasted iron maiden. Zmiter can smite bosses to death, and the team can clear all difficulties and easily stomp on dclone and ubers also.

Zealot IS a 1 point smite.
 Never used smite/charge and what not on my paladin builds before (Avenger and Hammerdin are the two I've played) soooooo..........

..........the Zealot build has begun!

And I've already hit a problem,

B-nat won't allow me to name him "neck-support" (ged'it?)
I presume it's the "support" part of the name.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Cheers one and all, this should be a fun combo to play!

Simon.

Another option is a Conviction Zealot; will make Corpse Explosion massive. Requires some nice gear though (e.g. Dual Dream)
