Fishymancer problems...

First off here is gear of my Corpse_****er:
-Eagle Necklace Ammy (+res, +1 necro skills, +resists)
-Shako,
-Arm of King Leoric,
-Trang-Oul's Scales,
-Homunculus,
-Trang-Oul's Claws,
-IK Detail War Belt,
-Natalya's Soul Mesh Boots,
-Raven Frost + Manald Heal rings.

now the Corpse_****er friend's gear:
-Stealskull,
-Hone Sundan Yari with 2 amn's and Shael,
-Shaftshop Mesh Armor.

Now... Corpse_****er is lvl69 and merc is lvl57. I'm currently on Hell and have a lot of problems with the pit... I mean when I try to play with players8 turned on it's really hard to kill minions boss's - I think my skellies have just to low dmg (even with might from merc turned on). I've checked everything and I've placed points in good skills - it's even hard to kill guys with CE. In last game my fishy was fighting with few "red guys" & 2 packs of bosse's and minions - they've killed me. Maybe I ****ed up something? any sugestions?

your to far ahead of yourself. i dont go itno hell utnil lvl 74 at least. and drop to p4 or 2 in axt 1, p1 from then on. you'll still get uber exp...

fishymancers tend to be skill and stat dependant. Could you inform us how you allocated your stats and skills so that we may be able to better help you?

oh, and CE works on the monsters HP in p1. so in p8 is does 60-100% dmg that a p1 mosnter would do. cut it down to p1 and CE will do enormous dmg, eaily has the potential of doing the most dmg of any skill, and can get it at slvl 1.
you might have guessed i like it...

1. You can quite easily level your character to 75 on nm difficulty, that is what I almost always do

2. Necros suck on /players 8. On hell difficulty your Corpse Explosion is the skill you use for killing, and on p8 its power is quite low compared to monsters hp. I have lvl 92 Fishy and I have used him only to run hall Baal on /players 1. For Pit there is so many better characters

One small thought: Which other character does not face that problem? The only skill I can think of is static field, that scales with players. Everything else suffers *exactly* the same penalty on players 8. Corpse explosion itself is no worse on players 8.

The thing that slows you down most is that you don't really have a reliable way of getting a continuous supply of corpses on players 8. Skellies most likely won't cut it in MF gear and the merc alone will take some time to kill stuff. Though I do believe you can get decent results if you gave your merc a crescent moon weapon with pretty fast attack.

One fact remains, however: As near as I could tell, it was never worth going on more players than 1 if you're after the loot. (somebody (summendar?) even did some research here, I only have what my guts tell me :D ) For XP, going on players 8 can make sense, of course.

@ NF

Yeah, I was a bit unclear there. But you must admit too that necros are not that good on p8.

I can't say much about that as I haven't done excessive testing on players 8. I think my necro in dream gear doesn't need to fear competition from other characters on players 8. If you compare your botd swinging character to a necro in full MF gear it's not exactly a fair fight. But if the necro loads up on summoning charms and +skill items I do believe he is a force to be reckoned with. Still, as I said, I didn't test all the builds on players 8 so I can't really say how fast they all are.

I've done pit runs on /players 3 with a fishymancer. With bonehew on my merc, it took me something like 2 or 3 hours to do ten of them (I'm extremely unsure of the time it took though). I don't know how well I play maybe you can do better. I think it's important to have good gear on the merc.

edit: forgot to mention I was in full mf gear: skullder, tarnhelm, ali baba, rhyme...

My fishy does great on hell players 5 and ok on players 6 - but anything over that is just a pain in the butt! Its that *quick quick kill something merc so I can blow them up!* waiting that is hard. That and one of the skellies or the merc or the golem or a revive wandering off and bringing yet another boss pack into the fray when you already have 3 engaged and have every curse under the sun on you ;)

Does this work differently on Hell than on Normal? I play a necro in normal on players 8, and when I face a pack of similar monsters and the merc kills one of them, I can usually (if they are Amped) blow them all up, even from full life. They have 450% of the life they would have had on players 1 and if the damage didn´t scale, I should not be able to kill them with one CE, unless they were more than half dead already.

Does the fact that I use the first 1.10 beta (1.10a if you like) matter? Was is different there?

Yes, I think that does matter. I remember from the beta period reports comming that the CE was bugged (not scaled down with player settings).

Hm... so is it possible to play on players 8 with fishy? of course I mean hell pit. From what you all have writen it seems to be possible but very hard. Let's say that I've got good gear (with about +10 all skills) & lvl80 - on which player's setting I should play to clear whole pit in 6/7 minutes?

btw. so which character/build is best for pit running?

Yes, you can do it on p8 with fishy. It only will be very slow. If you want to do a single run in 6-7 mins, then I would suggest p1 or p2.

Hammerdin is the best Pit runer imo, now mine has excellent map for Pit so he can do p8 Pit run in 5-6 mins (483% MF, 633% on merc). And I also think that somekind of hybridzon is very good too, Lightning Fury as main skill and bow on switch for lightning immunes. I don't know how much MF you can wear without being in danger, I guess at least her resists will be quite low with MF gear. Also poison necros can be good but they require quite good gear to be very powerful (Death's Web/Bramble)

:yep: it's hard in hell, that's why they call it Hell !!!!!

and I will give you a secret : if you return in normal, it will be easy !

but it will more difficult if you go without merc and without summon

and if you want the top of the top of difficulty , close you're eyes and play only with the sound !
