1 summon res

1 teeth
1 CE

1 in all curses cept dim vision side

Re: Fishy help

You're going to want to max CE. All your +skills on top of max CE = AoE the size of your screen, maybe more(?). I started hell last night and was dropping big (Act1) groups just as fast, if not faster than meteorb sorcs and LF zons.

Re: Fishy help

As louragan said, you'll definitely want to max CE as it is the fastest killing skill you have.

The Mage/DV debate continues to rage. DV is the "safer" route whereas Mages is the "faster killing" route. I've tried both and prefer the DV route (mostly because I play hardcore). But the Mage route is perfectly viable. There are good arguments for both sides, so just go with whichever you feel most comfortable with. I've never tried a half-and-half DV/Mage direction, but It would probably work as well. (That's the beauty of the Fishy. After around lvl60, you're done with the basics and can customize however you want.)

And I've never used teeth on a Fishy, but I believe it will be completely useless in Hell. So it's basically a wasted point. If you must have some kind of "personal attack", you're better off going with a boner or a summon/poison hybrid, or one of the more esoteric builds like a MeleeMancer or BowMancer.

Teeth is a prerequisite for Corpse Explosion.

Maxing block really depends on your play style. I usually stay away from it on Fishies, since there really isn't much chance of you being hit with some 20+ minions constantly around you. I'd worry more about resists. Of course, some monsters have piercing arrows and spears that can punch through your skellies and smack you, but that's nothing Dim Vision can't cure.

Thanks for all the feedback. Ive already maxed mages but i think im going to put one point in dim vision i will have lots of plus skills stuff (hopefully) and see what i can do with that but i mostly use amp and decrep (with clay golem and ice mages PWNZ) but again thank you all for all your help.

Re: Fishy help

I personally never use dim vision with my lvl 91 fishymancer. I can see why some people use/like it though.

You didn't say anything about your merc. Make sure you get an Act2 might merc. Put an Insight runeworld polearm in his hands for unlimited mana. Also put a Guillame's Face on him for Crushing blow. The higher lvl you go as a fishymancer, the more you rely on your merc and corpse explosion for killing.

I basically only use dim vision when gloams/black souls are around. Their lightning goes right through your minions and can wipe you out in one hit, especially if your resists are a bit on the weak side.

I spam it ahead, blind them, then let my army kill them while I keep them blinded.

Otherwise, I use different spells for crowd control, such as terror or attract.

I'd like to place the note that if you go Insight on the merc, you may want a Crown of Thieves on his head because he won't have any source of lifeleech otherwise. When you turn to bosskilling (end of baalrun for instance) slam Guillaumes on him and consider a weaponswitch to an eth. upped Kelpie Snare.

I myself use an Insight too, on the merc, because i just want to spam CE all the time. It's a definite need, at the moment you'll be wealthy enough to equip Enigma.

I make an insight iron golem. I just save 4 socket polearms, any, and make insight.

This way, I can free up my merc for a really good weapon, like an etheral obedience greap poleaxe. I use Andy's helm for life leech, and an etheral 3300 fort. He kills like nothing Ive seen.

One thing, I pumped up golem mastery instead of mages, so my iron golem would never die. He's only died when I did.

Re: Fishy help

Since you have already maxed mages (I prefer mages too) I would put 1 in DV then max CE. CE is arguably the best skill in the game.

I personally never use DV because I have maxed resists so gloams don't live long enough to bother me. I do use it sometimes to protect weaker players I'm running with in the game. DV is for sure a good skill though. With 1 point invested I get a lvl 19 DV so 1 point was enough for me.

Re: Fishy help

Of course it is!

I got confused by "all prereqs" and "teeth" being mentioned separately. :embarassed:
 <-teeth

All this talk about Insight golems has gotten me curious all of a sudden. Never actually did try one out. Might be worth a go. I mean, there's still a bunch of free points left over for GM even after maxing mages. Hmm...
