    First Week after Release

How are you going to spend your first week after you get Diablo 3? We are all very excited for this game, so be honest.

I'm probably going to spend the first week trying to figure out how to get the game to run properly. I'm having trouble running even Diablo 2 -.-

Probably gonna bit torrent it first, see if its fun and then wait to see if it needs patches or has network problems at launch, and then buy it once those two things are clarified. :whistling:

Lock myself in the basement with plenty of food/water/coffee for one week. Isolate myself completely from the outside world and go through singleplayer. After that, Bnet.

Hoping I have some time to play amidst constant site and wiki updates.

With D2C I just turned off ICQ and email and played like 18 hours straight to rush through the content and get screenshots and quest info for the diabloii.net pages. I didn't do it for fun, of course. I did it for the site info. *cough*

    Re: First Week after Release

a month before its release ill be scrapping my motherboard, graphics card, powersupply, ram and cpu and replacing them with some new stuff. probably buy a 24 or 26" monitor too and use my current 19" along side it.

ill probably book the week off work when i get my hands on it. ill try and go through act one on my own, then start again with a new character and go through with mates till completion. i much prefer the game in co-op, but found it frustrating first time round as a lot of stuff i overlooked whilst being newb... and having to keep up with everyone else.

Beg my wife to let me play and promise her that I won't let it consume my life.

    Re: First Week after Release

Hmmm. I meant to make this thread a poll last night, but I got too tired and went to bed, thinking that I would just post it the next day. I guess the text part of the thread posted anyway.

I'm alright with that, though. I'll think we'll get a lot more interesting answers from people than if it were a poll.

When I get the game, I'm going to pull at least one all-nighter just to get out all my eagerness that has been building up for the past 3+ years since they announced the game (I'll get sleep all the other nights I play). I would like to play as much as possible, but you know how school is: you always get assigned a ****-ton of homework at the worst possible time. If the game comes out December, thats probably when I'll be studying for all my finals. Choices, choices...jk I'll definitely be studying, but a little piece of my soul will die every time I think about how I could be playing D3

what kind of jobs do you people have ?

I might be able to work a week where I half *** it cause I'm only getting 4 hours of sleep a night while the rest of the night I'm playing D3, but to to take a whole week off ?

    surely you people are joking

    Re: First Week after Release

I'll be enjoying my fairly new gaming rig running D3 at a really smooth framerate whilst I submerge into the world that is Sanctuary. Until school interupts and I go into responsible mode.:wink2:

Lots of places have a lot better jobs than America/Canada, much better vacation scheduling and a lot longer vacations. For the supposed richest countries it is sort of strange.

    Re: First Week after Release

What if bliz actually made their goal, and released it in late Dec 2011? Can you imagine D3 as an Xmas present? Imagine it being released when most people actually have time off?

That would simultaneously save more careers/educations and destroy more family holidays than anything since the invention of brandy in eggnog.

    Re: First Week after Release

well, I have 4 weeks paid vacation, and that doesn't include holidays or sickdays
but I'll be damned if I spend my vacation indoors sitting in front of a computer playing video games
vacation is for beaches, mountains, hiking, being out in the sun, travel to peru and hike the inca trails, hike in nepal or western china or go kayaking

vacations are not for being indoors sitting on your butt staring at a computer playing video games
