First PvP Character #2

Stole dii's title. Rawr.

Anywho.

Looking for a PvP character to start up. Depending on the build, will either be lv90 (uber trist) or higher if it has some PvM ability.

What I'm looking for in the build:
- top/high tier (I know, *lamer*)
- easy stat/skill location (all vita and obvious skill location would be neat but necessary)
- extras are: being able to bm, team up with a ww/trapper decently, versatility

(my brother's making a ww/trapper)

If anyone plays smash, my favorite characters in that were Marth and Peach although I didn't wavedash that much or anything like that.

But other than that, if you want me to play a class, convince me.

Wind Druid.

As for SSBM, I hop characters all the time. Currently, I'm playing Sheik, Marth, and Ice Climbers.

A mage.
The conviction will help your brothers traps/lower def and on the side you can desynch around casting invis hammers.

I'd go with a Bone Necro, irresistable damage, plenty of BM ablity, you can spear people your bro stunlocks, cover him with spirit clouds and even lower resist people who try to absorb him. WW/Trapper covers a necro's minor weaknesses pretty well, and you cover his.

Windy is also a good option, on a team of 2 I tend to avoid 2 chars of the same element because they're easy to absorb, though a mage can be good if your opponent isn't prepared with plenty of stack.

I'd agree with the bone necro. Its also quite good pvm. It can teleport to baal fairly well, in any case.

Another idea, though not so good if you plan to solo the pubs, is a bowazon. My old one did great in a team with my old clanny's trapsin, and I would expect a ww/trapper would do almost as well. Sadly, its not too amazing at pvm, though they can chaos semi-decently, especially if somebody runs there for you.

In SSBM, my fav is jigglypuff.

I think it's between bone necro and windy then. A few questions then.

Which is simpler (stats/skill point wise)?
Which costs less?
Which is better PvM?

I think I'll avoid Paladins because of how hard it is to get their sc's. Cost and rarity wise.

I prefer bone necro because faster breakpoints. Dont which is more simple in skill
points. Bone necro with 1 point revives can do much and no immunies. CE works wonders. Bone armor is a savior in somepoints. Golem slowing effect is nice too.

simpler. about same. both are about maxing synergies. But prefer boner with more skills for choices. lower res, decrep for example.
depending on realm I guess but imo bone nec is on more expensive side if you are using 2/20 circlet. Dru don't need this as much.
in PvM, nec is btter imo for CE with amp. plus unresistable dmg except few in act 2 (which you never go for mf anyway..) and vairous other non-mfable places expcet act WS. Still you can niced CE most stuffs away even if Magic immune. just takes time

I would say that the Bone nec is so much easier to controle!
The druid might be better if you have 2/2/20 circlet and 2/20 amu.
But without that that, go for the Nec

Well, not sure what I can get for either. But the cheaper build would most likely be easier to get..

Need info on..
- stats (both seem to be base-ish str, max block, rest vita)
- wind druids in general (build, there's no guide)

Rawr, I suck at PvP. >_>

Was wondering what people think they tend to have in general. From experience or what not.

To help me decide between Windy and Boner.

But would a Windy be better just because they can beat a FCer? ...Wait, they can, right?

east ladder pubs have zons that use fc/smiters/hammerdins/some sorc
there are droods and necros but not so popular since gear is more expensive i think

There are two nec guides in the sticky and if you go to the druid forum there is both a windy guide (slightly outdated perhaps but then there is a discussion in the thread that should cover it) and plenty of wind druid threads

Also, no guide is definitive as long as rare and crafted items are recommended in it. How about you at least post your setups so that we can discuss them? Windy is a cookie cutter skill-wise, max synergies and oak, finished @ 94.

Yeah, I always look around.

I guess I would use the block set-up in the Xombie's guide for a boner.

Druid would be like -
2/20 Circ
Mara's
HotO?
Enigma
SS
Trang's
Arach
2x SoJ/BK
Waterwalks

I've merged this thread with the East Pubs thread - I really don't think you need a separate thread for that info :wink3:

All right. I don't get the reason for editing though. I didn't do anything until now after the thread merge. >_>
