First Guardian/Highest Lvl/DClone(?)

Well, today, i got my highest lvl in HC ever. lvl 79.6 druid!! (ladder)

also, he is my first Guardian.

3rd, Diablo Clones spawned, but no one got him, he was in A4 apparently, and a lvl 95 sorc came in.

my question is, i didnt know he could spawn when someone msgs something, unless he used color hack. as seen here

Looks like colorhack to me. He said the screen didn't shake and the message log would place the "diablo walks the earth" message on a seperate line if it happened.

i figured it was color hack., i even said to him:

"did he really spawn, or did you use color hack"
"i thougth bnet banned color hack"
"uh"
"i havent seen it in ages"
"ive seen it recently."

lol yeah.

so the lvl 95 sorc came in and said he killed him.

then the sorc tried to PK us. her merc nicked me with his spear... but it did like 5 dmg. (not really, but i could barely tell) :cheesy:

ive been playing HC for a looonng time. just never gotten a guardian before O_O but now i did!

where do you suggest i lvl at lvl 79?

My highest level is a level 84 sorceress who hasn't tackeld DClone, but I traded for his precious charm. The sorc should hit level 85 from mephing tonight. I'm not stopping until I have to sleep.

i went into an Act4 game. and got to lvl 80.2 :winner:

there were no baal runs :-\

oh yeah, and with BO (lvl 31 as the barb said) i had 6000 life!! :cheesy:

That was definately color hack. The screen always shakes when the clone spawns and the Diablo Walks the Earth is on its own line. In most cases you will see soj sold messages before the walk since it is pretty rare to hit a game where the next soj sold spawns the clone.

Not just color hack but cleverly done. It looks as though perhaps the screenshot was taken in playing 640x480 resolution. At 800x600 my guess is the Dclone message would have 'wrapped' to the next line, making it appear as though it wasn't a color hack but really was Dclone (except the shaking).

640x480? Increase that size! In Hardcore it's so much easier when things aren't right on top of you and you get that extra second to react!

Color Hack. I'm betting I know who's using that.

if i change my resolution to 1000 or w.e it is. it wont change on anyone elses correct? (windows xp)

but no, text never "wraps" the SOJ, msgs never do that....

He is not talking about bnet messages wrapping what he is talking about is the wrapping by the color hack user. Now that I know about the resolution it makes more sence.

What obviously happened is the guy did his typing based on the higher resolution so on your comp where there was a lower resolution set the Diablo walks the Earth did not end up on its own line the way the guy intended.

He was probably hoping to lure ppl to where the "clone" was to kill them or just make them look foolish. One tip that will always catch that form of color hack is if you are not sure if a message is legit open the party screen. That will change the way the text wraps and will make it obvious if someone was doing a wrap around trick. (also look for the white : in a gold line that is also a give away if the person is not trying to wrap it).
