Fire Fighter Palidan

Fire Fighter Palidan

I am thinking about making a Figher Fighter Palidan and basically I want some opinions on it.

I plan on using an up'ed Kinemal Sword which gives +6 to holy fire

Max Resist Fire
Max Holy Fire
Max Salvation

Using a 2 weapon what would be a good combat skill for a Palidan? Charge or Zeal.

I know I know Kinemal is a crappy weapon but I thought it sounded like an interesting idea.

First off its Fire. Second off a fire fighter uses water. Maybe flamethrower? up to you really... just wanted to point that out...

Now... if you check the numbers (chippydip's skill calculator - just google it), you'll find the damage is even worse than that of holy freeze. The only thing holy fire is actually good for is to use in conjuction with that bow that fires explosive arrows (something like that), because then your damage hits twice.

Meaning double damage... but its a bow... and hey, that actually fits better... whoever's seen a flamethrower whacking away with a sword... he shoots his fire from a distance. :teeth:

Greetings.

how about hexfire instead of kinemil's? The awl is weak, and going two handed is doable but never the best idea, particularly with a build that is low powered to begin with.

Fire fighter could mean something other then a real firefighter. It could possibly mean one who uses fire to fight  .

Yeah hexfire would be a good choice and you cant say no to a shield. I would probably just use kemnal until i find some good replacements. Basically I saw the sword with such a nice HF bonus that it gave me the idea.

Holy fire while running around with a hexfire? This sounds very weak.
Lets say you've got an additional +5 all skills:

Adds 1270 - 1339 fire damage.

My Holy freeze does greater damage at the same level with 0 points in salvation.

Trust me, this is very weak.

UNLESS.... yes there is a use for it....

When you equip an item that has "Fires explosive arrows or bolts", you deal physical damage from the arrow to which Holy Fire damage is added, and you deal damage from the exploding arrow to which HF damage is also added. Meaning you deal double the damage. That is the only way to make it useful.

unless you use dragonscale, the only use of dragonscale seems to be to make Holy Fire pallys less of a joke.

Now...

There are some more options...

The Hand of Justice Runeword.

Get a Hand of Justice Conquest or Cryptic
-20% Fire + The Holy Fire Aura stacked more on that... + Other Kickarse mods... Then use Dragonscale shield. Then some fire facets in gear perhaps...

Bleh I am extremely tired or I would type more...

your going about this the wrong way, i had a build in mind for a pala like this before.. but i didn't get around to making it..

20 Zeal = more ar
20 Resist Fire
20 Salvation
20 Holyshield
20 Defiance

xx Convition..

get a HOJ in a good weapon, this is ur holyfire aura u want, with -150 resist

only drawback is that im not sure if the holyfire will be synergized by the resist fire and salvation..

anyways.. get Flaming Sc of Vita for charms or Offensive Aura Gc, im not sure which is better...

but this build is a perfect candidate for Rising Sun  +2 fire skills etc... Or if ur feeling wonderful, try a Angelic ammy + 2 rings, and then use mage fist for gloves lol.. Pop on a SS / Shako for 45% Dr which is plenty,

figure out the IAS u need, and u might have urself a decent pvp fire pala.

thisis only an idea and never been tested before. So dont say i didn't warn you about making this.. Its probably for the rich build anyways... i dont see a poor version of this working..

Hand of Justice is one way to go about making a Holy Fire Paladin. The Holy Fire granted by the runeword will only be level 16 and there is no way to increase it, however it can be fully synergized by maxing Resits Fire and Salvation. Not having to run the Holy Fire aura yourself will allow you to run a maxed Conviction, making your Holy Fire damage that much more effective. The only problem with this idea is finding or trading for the runes to make HoJ. Add a Dragonscale shield and some fire facets, and you're in business :)

A lvl 16 holy fire aura when equipped adds 75-87 fire damage to your attack.

Afaik, an 'aura when equipped' doesn't get bonuses from synergies. We'll have to wait for someone who knows for sure to drop by...

One thing I am certain is that it doesn't benefit from + skills.

Ok, here are some stats for the level 16 holy fire from Hand of Justice. Spending points into synergies is the only way to boost the holy fire damage (well theres Conviction too of course), + skill items and skill charms wont work.

Aura only with no synergies:

Range: 14 Yards
Fire damage: 12 - 14
Fire Damage To Attack: 75 - 87

Aura with maxed Resist Fire aura

Range: 14 Yards
Fire damage: 57 - 66
Fire Damage To Attack: 345 - 400

Aura with maxed Resist Fire aura and 10 points in Salvation aura

Range: 14 Yards
Fire damage: 65 - 75
Fire Damage To Attack: 390 - 452

Aura with maxed Resist Fire aura and maxed Salvation aura

Range: 14 Yards
Fire damage: 72 - 84
Fire Damage To Attack: 435 - 504

with hexifire, dragonscale, a 10/-10 +3 off aura circlet, +3 ammy, and a lot of other + skill gear and 8 charms, you can get 10k. but freeze is still better. same damage + slow
